If you have a multi-core CPU please post how many cores you have. These results are important so if everyone could contribute that would be great

My desktops are both single core, as is my server. My laptop is a dual-core, individual chips. My netbook is running hyper-threaded, so it's a pseudo-dual-core. And at that, I'm not sure what to vote.

It's got a single physical core, so a single would correct.
Single core for me, by the way. Pentium 4 2.5GHz!

Single core, 1.8Ghz, old yes, but I have managed so far. It does what I need it to do, if I was to do Feature film rendering or serious gaming, then I would upgrade, currently I only need emacs and gnu 3.5 compiler, so it is more than enough.

This isn't really off topic but sorry for posting something other than my specs.
You can get 8 core now, just so you know.

You can get a dual Quad-core board, but there are no octo-core processors out in commercial use. I believe the Xeon has a Hecto-core though.

Because I'm awesome, what's it to ya?
Also I found this:
"We were surprised to learn that despite the rumors going around, AMD's eight-core CPU is actually a native one. AMD can do native octa-core just as well as Intel can with its Nehalem, and the codename for this eight-core monster is Montreal. This comes from a highly ranked source at AMD.
So, Montreal is not just two Shanghai quad-cores stitched together, it's a native octa-core 45nm part. This makes sense for servers initially and eventually it will also launch for the ultra high-end gaming market.
Of course, this all happens in 2009."

Looks like octa-core CPU's for commercial use aren't very far off.

I run old-ish hardware, and all my processors are single core. I think my desktop one has hyperthreading, but I haven't really looked into it that much.
Desktop: 2Ghz (AMD 3200+)
laptop: 1.2Ghz (AMD Athlon XP)
server: 1.993 Ghz (Intel P4)
ipod: 400Mhz (ARM11)

My p4 3.0 GHz has that one Physical core one virtual core thing, so I'll put one for myself and one for the shorteez.

My laptop has an AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-60 2.00 GHz. And yes, it is a dual core.

My iMac has a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 duo. It's nice and fast, with 1TB of HD space (counting external)and 4GB of memory backing it, and I'm going to bring that up to 8GB over the summer.
