Watch the video for the full question and my response to it.
Basically... Would you be willing to meet someone in person, that you met online first? Would your answer have been different four or five years ago?

Yes, now. A while ago, no. Gametag is coming to UNL for college, at my suggestion. I shall be meeting him. I wouldn't be willing to meet a lot of people, mostly because I hate a lot of people, but there are a few I'd have no opposition to. Not really unwilling because of the online factor, just because I don't have any desire to see them or whatever, much in the same way I wouldn't want to see them if I knew them in person, simply because I hate them.
Might be meeting Zone this summer as well.

NEVER! I am very cautious about who I meet online. I would never meet anyone in person. I advise you all to be careful as well because some people aren't what they seem.

It just depends on how they act.

Haha. You've been watching too much of "Catch a Predator". Also, most of us aren't teenage girls who need an older man.

Statistics would argue against you concerning how many people falsify their identity with malicious intent on the internet. You're using an idealistic mindset, in that you simply think that anyone on the internet will capitalize on any opportunity to take advantage of someone else. After having spoken to someone, heard their voice, known their friends, seen them, for years, one can be fairly certain. There are people I know online better than people I know in person. Logically, you should be just as cautious around talking to people you haven't talked to before as you should be about meeting someone from online when you know them well.
tl;dr: lol, enjoy your bubble.

It's just the way I was brought up. I go to a catholic school and I have seen a lot of videos or many thing done to people who meet in real life. Although, I suppose if you were REALLY sure the person was an okay person, I don' see why not. But I'm just sharing my opinion.

And just how many videos and stories have you heard about people where nothing bad happens?
Yeah. Welcome to the world of media. Nobody gives a shit when nothing insignificant happens. But the rare cases, that's all you get to hear about.

There's a few people I'd like to meet. And I know their no harm because of the way they are. And I think one of them would panic if they met me, his voice is so squeaky that he sounds like he's under 10.

Remember kids, not everybody on the internet appeared on "To Catch a Predator".
Tural is right, the media is pretty much which channel can find the best shock news because that's what people like to watch.
Ohmygods > eh for news channels.

As in Zone 117? Cool.

EDIT: I would meet Veegie, but I doubt Veegie would meet me.

To answer you in a more proper way...I'd consder the person first...But I;m sure the majority would be no, unless I talked to them regularly and knew them and wanted to see them...
