Hey Everybody i just installed the VTP8 (Vista Transformation Pack 8.0.1)
For all of you who dont know what this is, it is a install that makes Windows XP Look Almost EXACTLY like Windows Vista. I like the 8.0.1 because it has a better boot screen (it looks better) it comes with a correct login screen and gives you the chance to have the Glass borders! and it also gives you WinFlip,Visual Task Tips,ViStart,ViOrb,and Vista Sidebar.

WinFlip is a program that allows you to do what is seen in this pic:

The 3D flip thing that you can do with vista.

Visual Task Tips this program allows you to do what is seen in this pic:

It gives you the small glimpse of the window by laying your mouse's cursor on it.

ViStart is a program that makes your start window (when you click start) look just like Vista's as seen in this pic:

ViOrb is a program that fixes the start button to look like windows Vista(it is in all of the pics)

Vista sidebar is a program that gives you a choice of skins or gadgets in the sidebar (seen in a few of the pics)

if you want the VTP8 Click Here

A useless reply, you're cool.

Anyway, VTP has some problems. And I wouldn't recommend it either. I had it for a while, but performance was affected...pretty severely at times.

I found a good alternative, but it's for windows blinds. Much less resource consumption. You can find it here. And if you need the little applications that come with VTP 8 for some reason, (sidebar, winflip, Vistart, ect) you can download the instruction manual for VTP (found on the same page where you download it I think). The manual includes links to the programs, so you can install the ones you want.

Just use Windows Blinds. You don't need all those visual effects to eat up performance. Although that 3d flip thing looks pretty cool.

Meh. Tried it when I first got my computer, buggered up some of my programs. Seems too unstable and resource-hogging from my experience. If you really like Vista that much, just get it...it really isn't that bad...

wow...

I use the Windows Classic theme on my vista PC... no need to have useless things take up resources

I have the whole windows blinds deal, none of the fancy addons, basically just a skin, looks good and doesn't slow down my computer in the slightest(and i have a 7 year old laptop).

As for this;
Who needs Vista transform pack when you already got vista. :3

They all do... Vista sucks. Downgrade back to XP.

Only if you don't know how to optimize it :3, of which i do due to computer engineering and optimizing being part of my course that i took at college.

This is ridiculous, I strongly advise to not install this. After installing, my computer took about 20 minutes to boot (as opposed to about 2 or 3 mins.). Totaly pointless and inefficient.

Wow, I really had no problems like this when I installed it on my old computer awhile ago... looks like they screwed something up between version 6 and this one. :?

Shit is lame. It's cool at the beginning because it's like "haha i got vista looks in a xp machine lol" but it wears off and the bugs in it really start to get aggravating. Then you go to remove it, and it leaves little bits and pieces of itself everywhere making it really time consuming and almost impossible to remove every little bit of it off of your machine. Then it gets really annoying and you get tempted to light your face on fire to get it off. I just dislike when the uninstaller for a program doesn't remove all of the pieces. I strongly hope you think at least 9 times before installing this.

Ever since I reinstalled vista, my source engine games have ran much much better than it would run on XP. I did test out the games before I installed vista.

i thought 9 times about this....and i don't really think i wanna try....cuda has some great points....but for a transformation i suggest windows vista inspirat....it doesn't slow anything down...and uninstalling is a breeze

:\

This is pointless; I actually hate Vista's themes, along with all its stupid "extras".
