Semi-Pro comes out on Friday, so I decided to post this to see how many of you will be going. I personally love ANY movie with Will Ferrell in it. :D

I'm tired of these movies. I'm tired of Will Farrell. He plays the same character in every movie :\

Sooner or later, this "Let's make a comedy with 4th grade jokes," genre will die; I will be happy then :) .

As much as I love Will Ferrel, I think you're right.

It's time for something new guys...

I can't stand Will Ferrel now. He's just plain annoying.

Isn't this like, his third or fourth straight sports comedy?

I liked Stranger Than Fiction, but every other movie he is the same person. I might watch it when it comes out on DVD, but I don't think I will go see it in theaters.

Stranger Than Fiction was good, his other movies are funny, but I will admit it is starting to get pretty old, although I might go see it if I get the time, just for laughs  but if not, I will probably rent it when it comes out or something.

Well his normal movies are great. Anchorman, Stranger than Fiction, all good movies. His sports movies are just getting out of hand though..

I'm just sick of sports movies period. There are only 2-3 conclusions to them, and they're always predictable.

True.
What's really irritating is they come out in theatres as PG-13 to get younger people to watch it, then once it's out on video "Olol the Comebackz unrated editionz".
I'm so sick of unrated movies (unless it's the good kind of unrated, the kind not spawned off of sexual humor). I'm just sick of comedy movies period right now. They are all rediculous parodies with lame ass jokes.

Yeah, that's an example of worst case scenario.

You guys are right, the streak of sports related comedy movies with Will Ferrell must stop, because it is annoying. >_< But the thing is, a lot of the times, Will's 'character' that he plays in each movie stays the same in a way, but he always makes me laugh somehow, even if all the jokes are lame or old.

I will see it eventually, in theaters or otherwise. I'm sorry, I love Will Farrell's movies, even the stupid ones. He's a funny guy.

looks funny. Will Ferrell has never disappointed me with any of his movies yet (although I didn't really like Stranger Than Fiction).

The guy who was the most guilty of that was Will Smith.
(Definate exception in I am legend)

Not sure about semi pro... Talladega nights pissed me off so much I couldn't see straight, and this likes like it might be down the same alley. He has been doing way too many of these sports comedies, some funny some not. I guess i will wait til DVD and see where this one falls...

Will Smith... I dunno about him, though. His character fits the personality I imagine him having. It's believable.
My problem with Will Farrell is that I can tell he's acting. His screaming, goofy, slightly retarded character he over-uses doesn't fit how I actually think about him (I picture him being the kind of guy who's in Night at the Roxbury, or Zoolander. Those are the characters I laugh at, not this). He was pretty funny, but Talledaga Nights, Blades of Glory (-_-), this... They're all the same, and they're not exactly funny.

Personally, it's just the way I am, but I like comedic actors who uphold the same sort of character. Like, on mad tv, lorraine (mo collins), I only watched the show to see her skits and loved when knew ones came out. Same sort of deal, Willy is my favorite comedian, and I like the character he's sort of created from himself. Though I really would like to see him in something not about sports, I mean I don't mind the other ones but that part is getting a bit boring.
