If you make unauthorized copies of copyrighted music recordings, you're stealing.

Audio CDs have no copy protection by default, and it is therefore not illegal to copy the files from them. The lawsuit is frivolous.

"Whether customers may copy their CDs onto their computers -- an act at the very heart of the digital revolution -- has a murky legal foundation, the RIAA argues. The industry's own Web site says that making a personal copy of a CD that you bought legitimately may not be a legal right, but it "won't usually raise concerns," as long as you don't give away the music or lend it to anyone."

They're saying "Guilty until proven innocent." They claim because it isn't listed as legal, it is illegal. That goes against the entire foundation of a legal system in this country. It's just retarded.

Can't you see, Tural? He's being mean to the nice recording industry, that doesn't care about their bottom line at all. All they want to do is support the artists.

Whatevs. No Matter how hard they try, it won't stop millions worldwide from Stealing Music anyways. Now they're just splitting hairs and making people hate them more, which, consequently hurts their cause.

Agreed. They came too late to trying to save their image (some companies), and now they're getting screwed up even more.
