HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Before reading this post, or anything other post in this thread please refer to the post by GTAF located right under this one.

I always see on other sites a respect list of people that one person respects and they then add it to their signature to show others who they respect. I've always wanted to see a awesome site (HaloMods) do that but instead of people adding a list to their signature, and we do have a minimum of five lines of text to follow, which I respect and everyone else should to I figured a respect thread would be a neat idea. I searched before posting this because I figured someone might have already done this but I found nothing so here it is.

Okay instead of posting just eight(8) people that you truly respect just go a head and post all the people that you respect. I figured 8 would be fair because I thought people would actually describe why the respect that person but I guess no one wants to. :\

It's that easy, just make sure your post follow the rules and don't go off topic. Once you post your done, you can rearrange your order whenever you would like, and when someone else views this thread they can go through each post and maybe they will see their name. If you don't see your name from a good friend of yours don't post about it here or the rant thread take it up in PM, you shouldn't need to do that because it's the people who they respect not you choosing for them.

I think this is a cool idea and if this does get out of hand then any staff member has the right to lock this or even delete it so I'd suggest no one screw up. :p Anyways post away.

Just giving a fair warning that if anyone starts any fucking drama from this, it's getting locked, deleted, and the member(s) involved will be given warnings or possibly temp bans depending on the severity.

I respect myself, that is all.

I have so many different people and I don't like doing a "top eight".
These aren't in any order specifically.

I respect: Me, Tural, Argon, Ragdoll, Pepsi, DECOY, M4573R51337, CtrlAltDestroy, GTAF, ScottyGee, Veegie(even if he uses me for a test dummy), DeToX, Kirk, Iron_Forge, Choking Victim, and Dr. Cox.

I think I respect too many people.

Caboose could you lower it down to just your Top 8? Ones that you respect the most. I guess I could add a poll seeing how many people would rather just post all the people they respect or just a Top 8.

This wouldn't have anything to do with my post would it?

Top 8 (In no particular Order)
Ragdoll - He helps me test my maps, and doesn't kick me out of his party when I go into his and accidentally mess it up a bit. And he's patient with my "friends"
Caboose Jr - Like Ragdoll, he doesn't kick me out when I accidentally screw with his maps. He's a good player. He's the deputy of HaloMods. I don't go to the Halo PC section, but I'm sure he does well with his Moderation.
Tural - Though it seems as though his every reply to any of my posts disagrees with it, or seems to provoke a heated "discussion," I still respect him because he takes his job seriously. With every post of moderation he makes, he risks being hated that much more.
Detox - From what I've seen, he's been helping some people learn programming. He also has released some applications that have made modding much simpler.
StalkingGrunt - I have respect for anyone that would make a thread like this.
Iron_Forge - He made the White Paper, and he is in the inventor of Halo 2 Modding.
Myself - I rarely finish anything that I start. Or I get into a hobby, and stop before I actually fully immerse myself in it. I respect myself for following through on this hobby.
Trulife - The King of AI in MP! He brought the community for an amazing effort to get AI in MP, which I must say is quite a feat.

There are a lot more, those are just off the top of my head.

Gametag - He's Gametag.
Forge - After getting to know him, turns out he's a lot like me, if I was allowed to do what I want. =p
Veegie - He commands respect. His mannerisms, while not appreciated by many, show that he is capable of taking charge.
Kornman - Produces some interesting stuff.
Nick - Same with Veegie. He has that authoritative quality.
Danke - I appreciate his intellectual discussions, even if they are derogatory towards me.
Chad - How one can be so un-judgmental, I shall never know.
Alexei - Awesome work.
Evolved - See above. I only knew him for a few months, but he reminded me of how Gametag/KB/Myself conversed.

No particular order. Respect is a different word than I'd use for a lot of people, hence the names here.

Not in any order, just from the top of my head.

I respect the Moderators, and Admins of the site. The Moderators for keeping our topics clean, and fix posts. They have been great over the years, and always do their work correctly. The Admins for running the site. Though we barely see any active Admins, they do actually make this site happen.

Also anyone who makes modding Halo possible, look were we ended up over the past few years all the possibilities, and the list is still growing.

Well I guess I'll be the first one to actually give a reason why I respect the people in my list.

Not in any order.

FoxFanatic2317 - Not sure why I respect him. But I do he is the coolest person I've ever talked to online and we can talk about anything and we each have a story about that certain thing.

Tural - I don't know why some people don't like him but I sure as hell do, I respect him as a staff member, I respect what he posts, and I respect his feelings for cats.

DeToX - I think I've respected him once we first started talking to each other, I remember first private messaging him about his programming tutorial for VB at the time. We talk about a lot of stuff as well and crazy stuff happens that involved me, wasn't me, and it got solved.

JK-47 - I haven't talked to him too much but from when we have talked him seemed like a really nice person and he is. I respect how much he likes/loves his girlfriend, I mean I love my girlfriend but this man would probably do anything for his girlfriend and I'm sure she loves him a lot too.

Veegie - Now I have no clue why people don't like Veegie, everytime I seem a post of his it's always funny and I almost always laugh, most of the time when Veegie does say something that someone would consider hateful or something along the lines they almost always set themselves up for it. I also have never tried to piss Veegie off because I truly respect him.

GTAF - I'm not really sure what to say, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I respected him because he seems to joke around a lot about certain stuff but at the same time he can mean business.

HSM - I respected HSM because he is a crazy guy and I mean that in a good way. I played with him on Halo 3 and when we played Social Doubles some of the stuff would always crack me up. He is also an excellent modder and hopefully he will being tearing up Halo 3 when it will be moddable.

CabooseJr - Well first of all he is the Deputy of HaloMods, and to me that sounds pretty cool. It would be awesome being a Deputy and I respect him being able to be one. I also respect how he likes anime and some people say they don't like anime and he just keeps making anime sigs. I don't like anime, lol I know but when it comes to CabooseJr's sigs I don't mind it one bit.

In no particular order. I'll post why later, not enough time at the moment.

I find that those who specifically don't like me are the ones who break rules, go out of their way to instigate or further a conflict, or are very ignorant and succumb to peer pressure. There also seems to be a correlation between people who like me and said people having conversed with me on Live, or other means outside of the forum. The way my posts come off here is a lot different than the way I act elsewhere.

Yeah I sorta know how you act on Live, I haven't played Halo 3 in a while but it's obvious you like to have fun, like *cough* placing a spawn over the death zone on Foundry and not letting me and others in the party spawn *cough*. It's cool though. Oh and I still don't know how the hell you managed to become a monitor when I had it set as Party Leader only, I'm guessing host can do it as well because my friend and I were on the same 360 at that time and you were the first person to join then others joined.

It's a flaw in the game. Anyone can press Start and click "Go to Edit mode."
They addressed it somewhere. I believe the wording was similar to "That's what we call a feature, in theory, it would stop others from entering edit mode, in reality.. not so much.."

Tural for being Tural, Cuda for being a hip guy who eerily likes too much of the same things as me, Danke for having good topics, Solra Bizna for programming and (outside of HM) Vendetta Online playing, Altimit01 for programming like a madman, [IA]Paul for having common sense and playing Halo (given that I can find my CD), JK-47 for meeting him , and Shout for having good discussions in those threads that Danke makes. Hard to choose. :/ I respect everyone, until they disrespect me or do something blatantly stupid toward anyone else.

And this is what sucks about me not having a 360...nobody plays Halo 2 with me, and, like Tural, I tend to act less serious on XBL.

I respect pretty much all the mods, even if a one or two can be biatches some times.

1. Shadowkhas - A great moderator with common sense, a sense of humor, and can stand my endless posts on MSN with a simple "._."

2. Tural - cuz evry1 els does. No, because he, like Shadowkhas, has common sense and has one of the best senses of sarcasm I've ever seen.

3. JK-47 - Because he seems so much like Shadowkhas and has such a damn cool attitude.

4. Jsk1016 - For being the leader of EMT and being a great friend outside of Halo.

5. Kirk - For being the junior admin that cared about the Mac section. He also changed my name. Fuck you, [C]Paul95.

6. Veegie - For being Veegie and making the best comeback ever when I called him out for typing manor instead of manner.

7. Archangel - For being a great mac skinner and modder with creative mod ideas.

8. Halo_Addict - Same as above.
