Call me crazy, but I think it looks awesome..the animation style of the races looks interesting.

I have to agree, when I was a kid I loved the cartoon series (not the stupid new version, the old 60s version) and I have to say, this looks pretty bad ass.
EDIT: Also, Racer X is a fucking badass.
EDIT2: Also, John Goodman as the dad. lul.

This movie saddens me because it does not have out of sync mouths nor does it force the characters to talk extra fast or add in extra words, oh!

Does anyone remember the spoof version of this show in that Fairly Odd Parents episode (the one where Timmy gets into the TV)? Man, I freaking loved that episode! Lol, when he went into the Speed Racer show, all the character's mouths were out of sync and they all occasionally went "AH! OH! HA!" or somethin like that... well, I was liek lol'in in my pants when I saw that.

While I love most of the work that the Wachowski brothers have done, I honestly don't see this movie turning out good. Fans of the series will cry themselves to sleep as their childhood memories will be raped. Based on the trailer, it may be popular among kids, if they're lucky. However, I could be totally wrong and it may turn out awesome...but that's highly unlikely.

Probably. But I'll give it a shot even if I hear it's bad, because my opinions fly out of the way from most peoples'.

I agree with you shadowkhas. I hate it when people base their opinion on what the critics think of whatever form of media it is, not what they actually think of it.
I'll give this movie a chance, but I don't expect it to be anything special.

In terms of potential to be a fucking badass movie, it's awesome.
In terms of having anything to do with (the real) Speed Racer, it fails.
In other words, if you're like me and don't give a shit about sequels or remakes, you're going to love it. If you love them, well, you're definitely going to be disappointed, because this isn't anything like what you remember.

Well I loved the old Speed Racer series, but I'm still willing to give this is shot. It seems like they're staying true to a lot of the old look, so it has potential. My thoughts: It'll be corny, overly-cheesy, bad acting, odd animation. In other words; it'll be Speed Racer.

As A kid I loved this movie, but as I turned 9 I started to really hate it, but it looks really good now and I'm tempted to see it.
