What to get...

Well, Christmas is coming, and I want some sort of music playing device. I've set my mind on either an iPod Classic, an iPod Touch, or a Zune. However, I've no idea which is the best to get. Any suggestions would be appreciated. o.o

iPod touch if you wanna pickup ladies, have a fun interface (but lose a lot of storage). Really depends how large your music collection is. Has wireless, web browser, wifi store, its attractive. But if previous iPod sound quality is anything to go by, it'll be pretty mediocre
If you have a large one of can't be bothered constalty swapping music...Then go with the zune 80. Lots of space, large screen, pretty fair batter life plus the wireless features.
The classic is alright...Nothing really wrong (except mediocre sound, but a lot of people don't care), but nothing really notable or vista "wow" inducing.
(if you can't figure it out, I was posting in the order of my choice/recommendation)

Zune.
more "Bang" for your "buck".
although i do not own any music device, other than this very bad ass computer in which i listen to every day and night, i still would love for a zune.
just putting in my 2 cents.

There is no real bang for your buck with the Zune. You get a simple media player that only does what you need it to do for an appropriate price. iPod does more, therefore it's more expensive.

or you can buy the Old 1st Gen Zune, get all the same for like 70 bucks... The PC to Zune Wifi works, and all that shit, just like the new one. Just has that awesome scratch-hiding matte finish to boot.

I really don't see the point in the Ipod Touch. If I want to play around with a touchscreen I will go mess with a instant photo printing machine, instead of forking over an extra $200.

This isn't an iPod vs Zune discussion. May I recommend that you stop posting your opinion of why one is better than the other and simply post which mp3 player you personally think he should get, your reasons why, and leave it at that. As for my opinion: I personally prefer the new iPod classic style...Massive storage (That people like me actually need), sexy OS, new more comfortable stucture, and reliability.

I wasn't, I was telling GIR the difference between an iPod, and also reminding everyone here at the same time.
Veegie, I did not mean the iPod Touch. I don't mean to get into a long discussion, but the main problem with the iPod series right now is that they are trying to do too much, and the result is that other companies can come along and make a much simpler product for a lot cheaper, i.e. the Zune. So yes, you could say that the iPod touch is the top of the list in this category.
(By too much, i'm not just saying features, i'm talking all around. I see no real reason why we actually need an mp3 player skinnier than a piece of paper)
Overall I'd recommend the Zune.

Well i'll change my answer slightly:
If you've got the money, go for the iPod Touch (If you're super rich, get all 3..)
If you want a big hard drive and a fairly good thing to use for all around things, get the iPod Classic.
If you aren't super rich and just want something that works good yet affordable, get the Zune.
I'm saying this instead of one answer because quite honestly it's too difficult to say which one is "the best", it's the same for everything else, they're all good in different situations.

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth! Not, I got those already.
How about a hardy handshake from Claus himself.

Well, I guess I'm going to go with the Classic, mainly because its cheaper. I really don't have a lot of music, but the extra room seems like it would be nice if I ever do get more than 8GB. Thanks though guys. :p

Don't forget about the movies! ^_^ I feel you have chosen wisely. I love the Classic.

Yeah that's the one area where the Classic really shines (except for it's smaller screen :/) as I'm not sure if the Zune has that large of a hard drive.

I didn't realize there was a 16GB model. Guess I was thinking of the iPhone.
