I'd say Garageband, but I have no idea what kind of Live capabilities it has. I don't know of any others off the top of my head, sorry.

If money isn't an issue, then Pro Tools. Other than that, Garage Band is pretty good.

Well, the version of Pro Tools that I would recommend is $199. I don't know what price range you're looking in.

You have to select Full Install on the tab below the picture.

Logic Express is the same price, and it might be familiar to you, as it's similar to GarageBand.

If I were you I'd get a digitech RP250, it has a bunch of effects and you can hook it up to your computer and record what you play, and you can use the software you dl for it to make and save custom effects, I have it, it's pretty tight.

no, im actualy looking for software to give me different effects, not really to record. i have fruity loops for that, but i have no clue how in the hell to make custom sounds.

Well, then what you really probably need, is a good keyboard/synth, not software.

Running with a syth, the Moog Modular V gives you the fancy sounds of a moog without spending thousands of dollors.

If you buy here it is cheaper.

Edit: V 1.0 is $40.
