Just an idea I thought I would throw out there..

So, you know how you have those flashlights you shake to produce the light?
Why could a car do the same thing? Have coil wire wrapped around in the other side of the tire, and put the metal (Or what ever is used to grap the energy produced) then have it use the electricity to power the headlights?
In the daylight, it could be saving up power for night, and other simple functions. And if you didn't drive in daylight, it would produce it's own power.
Discuss it

Sort of like an alternator + battery?

probably because the alternator already does that, although i'm sure there's clever ways to use a system like that to transform physical energy into electrical energy to do other fun things...

Yeeeah. If you want better energy efficiency, buying a lighter weight alternator drive pulley with a smaller diameter is win.

i can see this working you would need much less energy but you still would need some

Better explanation.

I still don't get what's any different than an alternator.
Rather than have the power coming from the wheel, it just comes from the source: The engine itself. It spins too, which powers the water pump and fan (at least, assuming you don't have an electric fan) via the belts, and that spinning also powers the alternator at the same time, which is basically the same as what you're saying...
And since the headlights, stereos and basically every other accessory runs off the battery which is charged no problem by the alternator, I fail to see your reasoning here.
Besides, from that picture, your method has many flaws that would require constant maintenance.

Reading the line about the flash light, I imagined people picking up there cars and shaking them.

Oh! I thought you were talking about something totally different.
And with my pictures, that was just for the ideas ;p.
And on another side note: Like your car runs on battery, but instead of gas stations, you could have recharge stations.. Like battery swap outs.. Or something.

Their working on those kind of things now.
just not many people in america like electric cars as they dont sound like a tractor with a nut stuck inside the exhaust like harley davidsons do.
This forum doesn't need more nationalist-garbage from you. Take heed.
For once i wasnt being nationalist so back up your ideas next time you accuse me of a wrong doing when it is yourself who is wrong.
Unfortunately, you're the one that is in a position to validate your statements, as a normal user of these forums. Derogatory terms laced throughout a gross-generalization is far from a permissible comment. Given any shred of personal history you've constructed for yourself, you're hardly in a position to argue said accusations. Period. No action was taken against, only a verbal warning. Drop it.
If it wernt for me speaking my mind you would still have aztec fucking up the forums...
my comment was from what ive viewed americans and alot of other countries prefer cars with engines because electric cars do not have the horrid rattle as it drives by.
happy now?
Aztec has nothing to do with the case at hand. Despite the fact that you had nothing to do with him stepping down from his position. But good stretch at making it personal.
I heard otherwise from various staff members.

No, America would tolerate a quiet car if it had instaBRUM. Then they proceed to ignore the Tesla Roadster.
