"The Perfect Day"

Post by Sgt.Peppers »

Info:
http://christianactionnetwork.wordpress ... an-beslan/

From Glenn Beck's "The Perfect Day" on CNN: (Please, I encourage everyone to watch it.)
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestof ... .part1.cnn

Watch the whole thing, it may seem boring to some of you, but it's good information.

Yes, I know, we have a video thread, but I feel this is more important, and should have it's own topic to be openly discussed.

Interesting. I probably won't watch or listen to the program, but it's a good thing to keep in mind. People only usually see the clues when it's too late...and even if it isn't true, what can a little more vigilance at all times hurt?
That's not to say "zomg middle eastern people are at my school," so you should panic. Frankly, I think if any terrorist organization wants to attack us, they'll find people from the inside who are willing to do it.

Well, don't forget that it's a Muslim's dream to die killing non-believers. Still, looking terrorist's past tactics, it doesn't seem like we would acquire the information we have now. I felt like making a long post, but then again, I'd rather let this topic get more posts before I express more opinion.

I find this to be redundant. the sole perpose of terrorism is to make others fearful, all this series will do is make people even more fearful. sure its information, but isnt the US paranoid enough?

The purpose of the series is to prepare us for something like this.

Would it be better if no one ever said anything at all about it? Then what? It happens and no one knows what to do, or what's going on? I personally think it's much better to have this information out, so we can try and prepare for it, rather than let it just hit us all at once.

If you're being sarcastic: lawl. If you aren't, dear god please go jump off a bridge.

Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace are the top 2 reasons I do my best to not watch CNN.
Multiple, seemingly unrelated events may all converge together to pose a threat unlike anything we have ever faced before in this country
Sounds like a Seinfeld episode

Yeah, but on to the point I was trying to make. I think it's good that we're preparing, but I think CNN distorted the story a bit. Middle Easterner wants to drive a bus, so he must be a terrorist? I mean, granted that I would probably be rather nervous if I was on a bus big enough to hold bombs that could wipe out cities with an ME (Middle Easterner) driving. But in today's world, (I think I'm gonna lean more towards shadowkhas here) anyone can be a terrorist. Okay I'm kind of straying away here.

Issues to be discussed:
Is the government hiding information that could threaten our entire country in a single day? CNN almost tried to play it out like they were defying the government by even discussing it. For once I wish that I could be completely comfortable when I was told I shouldn't be alarmed, as well as being able to trust my government when they tell us we do have reason to be alarmed and should go to war (referencing to the WMDs). I'm not anti-government. I'm anti a-holes who seem to think that we have no idea of what our country needs (though a lot of people don't, not the point), and just assume that they can lie to us to keep us calm. We're not rats in a fucking cage.

Oh dear god no! We are not paranoid enough! I heard this being discussed at work, and the people there just rolled their eyes and shucked it off as propaganda to scare us. And rightly so! Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't.

1: welcome to HM natavi, but back on topic:

the safety of our schools is especially important, but this certain article sounds rather alarmist. ironically, i think the article achieves terrorism's goal to strike fear into people's hearts. it could be someone noticing things and making the right assumptions, but i find it more likely to be planned panic-inducing on the media's part.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Agreed...but still, just because of that, I don't think that we should've EVER had low security. If we really do want this nation to be safe, we can't take days off...and it's sad that we did on the days (Months? Years?) leading up to other things like September 11th, February 26th, and other stuff like that.

That'll be a moot plan when RealID is introduced.

The "Perfect Day" will be a perfect day.
Glenn Beck fails, as does america making a big deal of this.
Also, anyone else think videos of buldings exploding would go well with that song "Perfect Day"?

Thanks. It is appreciated.

Back to topic. I personally follow the philosophy "Peace through superior firepower." And right now, we got diddly squat. A todler could break into a school right now. Okay, maybe not a toddler, but still, you get the idea. Our children are our future. What people do not realize, is that while we may not be at war with them, they are at war with us. And, we are at a disadvantage. We have to be right all the time while defending, while they only have to be right once to strike us.

Alarmist it may be, but I would rather be armed and know that I can do something, rather than be weakened by being unarmed and die being useless. I know, I am paranoid. However. I feel a good deal of our survival depends on our being paranoid. If we arn't, then we probably deserve to be hit, if just to get the point accross, that we need vigilance.
(Yes, I am very military minded. >.> But thats beside the point.)

And even though it is a good security, I am worried about the religious implications of it. Somewhere in the bible, I don't know where, it states that "Every one shall have a number". I am to assume this would mean a social security number, or something like that, but this stuff scares the begesus out of me.

To relate this with Revelations would be a bit too Bible specific and obvious if you ask me, but Kudos to you on thinking of that. And security around my town is actually pretty decent. Most local places are actually starting to ID people on drinks and movies (movies part sucks because they wouldn't let me watch 3:10 to Yuma). I was invited to go to another school's dance the other day, but they wouldn't let me in or buy a ticket unless I had a "date" that would be with me the whole time, so I think security would be better on a state to state basis.
