hey everyone, one of my best friends cody died in a car wreck yesterday, one of my best friends charles (cody's brother) was driving, he was on vicatin (got hurt in a jet ski accident so he was supposed to take them) and he went to pick up his brother from the skating rink, well they were driving home when he lost control and over corrected him self spinning them side ways the suv hit them on the side (t-boned) and instantaneously killed cody, and now there thinking of giving charles vehicular manslaughter im like wtf he just basically accidentally killed his brother and now there pulling this shit... well i was wondering
1.how could they possibly charge him with this?
2.has anything similar to this happen to anyone else?
3.and how did you all stop thinking about it?
sry if this is wierd or something but idk i just need to figure this shit out

charles in the hospital right now

Trust me, the prescription amount of pain killers like that will get you high, I had shoulder surgery and was prescribed percocets, I took the actual dose, and was still messed up on them.

I'm so sorry about man, that's terrible.
To answer question #1, the doctors that prescribed it to him should have (maybe they did, I don't know) told him it was not safe to drive while taking it, most do.
Again, I'm so sorry about the loss.

Well to be completely honest here. He shouldn't have been driving while on drugs. That's common sense and obviously not a good idea.
Now, it is ashame that this did happen. I personally don't think vehicular manslaughter is the correct way of going about this but that's just my opinion.
Muh best friend went to Iraq and got sniped in the head. He's still alive and doing a hell of alot better. The way i've dealt with it up till now is to keep preoccupied. Of course, I don't forget about him but I just try to occupy my mind with other things.
Hope he makes it out ok. Just have faith they won't be harsh in their judgement towards Charles. I guess this is a cruel way to learn from your mistakes...

Well doesn't the prescription say not to operate heavy machinery? Sad to say but your friend might be in trouble...
I wish their family the best and hopefully everything works out for the better. Keep us updated.

I believe it says on every bottle of Prescription Painkillers, it says not to Drive or Operate Heavy Machinery. He is solely at fault.

As messed up as it was, I thought that was hilarious.

1. In after heavy machinery, do not operate, etc.
He REALLY shouldn't have even touched that car...

Sorry about your friend. Though driving with prescription drugs in his system was a bad idea, I don't think a charge for it is necessary.

Even though it wasn't a good idea to be driving, I think the loss is punishment enough.

I'm sorry, but unless he was forced to drive, it really is his fault.
