Inappropriate?

On our local rock station they had a contest between some random girl and a porn star on who could fake the best orgasm over the radio... so here I am driving along and my car becomes filled with the sounds of women pleasures.

If this thread gets deleted it shows the mod's viewpoint on the subject, that it was indeed inapropriate. This is radio, so anybody can hear it... even small children which then ask their mommy a question about why does the pretty lady scream when she's happy and what is porn.

Appropriate... or not?

I don't see anything wrong with that if you don't want to hear it change the station simple as that. :P

I find it funny how we try to shield our kids and demand that tv and radio be censored, yet on the news everyday you hear details of violent murders, rapes, beatings, robbery's, pornography, etc. Then they have news reporters talk about how violent video games dement young children, and make them kill people. Yet where do you think that kid in Iraq got the idea to hang himself? The news. I don't see why young children should be watching TV and listening to the radio unsupervised, fact of the matter is that alot of TV's now-in-days come prepacked with a V-chip of some sort, and most cable and satellite services offer some kind of parental controls. So why not use them? Unless you just want to blame someone else for your mistakes in raising your children.

When I grow up, and if I have kids, I have resolved not to give a crap what they watch or listen to. I think half the responsibility of being a parent is letting your kids grow up in the real world, without any censorship. This wasn't done for me. Most of my elementary schooling was done in an affluently populated private school, when I transfered into public school (in one of the more worse off schools in the district no less) I began seeing and hearing things I had never before. So, while we try to shelter our kids, the fact of the matter is that we have no more control over what our kids see or hear than we have over what someone else says or does. Or maybe I'm just a cynicist :|

They're going to find out themselves anyway, so I see no issue there. Though they probably should have warned their listeners so anyone particularly overprotective could change the station.

Also, Ombre wins thread.

I'll go a little of topic, but still related to this issue. I read some article yesterday about kids needing to be protected from the dangers of sexuality or something.
WHY? It's a bodily function that was performed to create every one of us, so how come knowing about it (just KNOWING, mind you) is so freaking harmful to the child's mind? You're going to learn it in a health class anyway in 3 years.

Or on the internet..
How would that be inappropriate? It is obviously fake, and if any parents listening to it with their kids felt it was inappropriate they could have easily switched stations. If you watch any TV, you will hear stuff like that all the time.

I wish I grew up not knowing that women farted. To those who still don't know, I might as well break it to you now: they do. Crazy, eh?

That's just what I get for growing up in the "real world." :?

the problem comes from the 40 year old woman who never had a boyfriend through high school and probably college and didn't get laid till they were 25. so now they get angry at hearing of all the other high school kids gettin drunk, having sex, blah blah blah...and so they have drilled it into the community that sex before 18 is bad. when really it's quite natural...and fun...

That's a tad bias, and somewhat wrong. Not all bodies are able to handle sex at that age. Can cause many many hormone and emotional problems. Aside from that, there's also something to be said about chastity until after marriage. Shows maturity and makes the experience oh so more special.

Nope, although I can say I have learned a LOT since I've been married. I had 3 brothers and no sisters growing up, so the only cotton I had under my bathroom sink was Q-tips (and things of this nature). Being married has been a huge eye-opener for me, I must admit.

Truth is, most parent's don't always shelter their kids like that.
