Military Medical Disqualifications

I'm contemplating joining the military. I was, however, unable to find a list of conditions disqualifying you from joining (I have glasses, probably doesn't disqualify me, but I have a few other things that might and would just like a list to double check). Also, I'm unsure as to what division of the military to join. I've heard good things about the Marines from army reserve guys I airsofted with, but otherwise don't know much about the divisions. Thanks in advanced for help from anyone who can offer it.

First of all, I don't want any flaming or any crap like that because of anyone's personal opinions of the Army.

Try that and this site in general: http://www.us-army-info.com/pages/enlist.html#req Seems to be what you're looking at.

Thanks shadowkhas. I was a bit surprised by the length of the 'Homosexuality' section on that .PDF though. Good thing I'm not gay. ;P

Actually, they don't really care as long as you're not outgoing about it and don't do engage in any homosexual activity while on duty. I have a friend that wants to join the military, and he's gay.

i only know of the ones everyone else does: can't be blind/deaf/dumb, flat-footed, and you must have your trigger finger.

other than that, they might disqualify people for being the only son in their family, overweight, and that only other one i can think of is if you're a homo.

Every person I know who has joined the the Marines or The Navy has hated it. I wouldn't go for any of them except perhaps a cook. (They get paid more.)

My uncle was able to afford MIT because of the Navy, he said it was pretty rough, but for people in his situation, I can completely understand why he would want to go to the Navy, some schools are just too damn expensive.

How homosexual is this forum that you can't even say gay in an inoffensive way?

Everyone I know who's joined the Navy has hated it. I have a friend who applied for conscientious objector status, was denied, and the put on the ship that fired some of the first missiles into Iraq. Plus his job sucked.

You tend to see more limbless people in the Army and Marines though.

I said it (even though it got censored), and I don't think it was offensive.
