Windows Vista

Windows Vista has been released, the latest OS from corporate giant, Microsoft.
I'm awaiting my Home Premium to arrive, got it free when I bought this PC just a month ago.
Just wanted to know what you guys think of it, had any problems? Any features you particularly like etc.
Naturally, this will get a bit heated as people's opinions
will vary, so please do not lock unless people actually start flaming... after all, there's nothing wrong with a heated debate.

I personally like it, I have tested it since the very early builds, and really enjoy it. One feature I really want is DreamScene, in case you haven't heard of it... it's the ability to play High Definition video clips as your wallpaper, instead of a static image.
This was shown at the launch by Bill Gates I believe, instead of a static wallpaper of a field, the grass actually sways with the wind. It looks beautiful.
Anyhow, what do you guys think?
Do NOT turn this into a Vista vs. OS X thread, or anything of the sorts. I want your opinions on Vista only.

I can't wait to try it again on my computer. Mostly, my bad experience with it is really just because I had 512 MB of RAM...and I bet they fixed many of my personal annoyances since RC1.
Like I said in the old thread, though, I'm not in a rush to get it.

I want it, its just that it costs a load, and my PC aint that great, so I think it would run slow, and right now, I have XP booting in 20 secs or less.
But I liked aero and the widgets, those things were cool, might install as secondary a secondary OS again, just for fun.

I love the whole OS, It's very sleek looking and fast. One of my favorite features is the MS Voice Recognition which I am using to type this with. The Aero theme is awesome I love the glass effect. Media Center is great. I have not had any problems so far. It was worth the money. I highly recommend it for gamers who plan on playing all the new games coming out in the future. Windows Live is great. Just remember to have at least 1GB of RAM, I have 4GB and have not had any speed issues.

I have Ultimate running on my old Vaio, 512mb RAM, 1.5GHz and a (LOL) 12mb video card.
Runs fine, super smooth. Though Aero, or flip3d are not present... it runs just fine.
Also, RC1 was terrible the UAC went all wrong, don't worry... it's fixed now though.

DreamScene looks incredible. Anyone have any idea of when it's due to release?

I'm going to get the XP > Vista Business Upgrade through my school - we're in the MS Student Select program, so I should be able to get a rather large discount. None of the other versions are available though...
Question: Does Vista allow me to use my Windows 98 style? If not, I'm going to have to kill someone...

I have Vista Ultimate...I think it's worth buying if you can dual boot (I do with XP), but I don't think it's worthy of a full system takeover yet.

I'm going to wait about 6 months so Windows can fill out all the bumps and security holes.

I don't. Vista is a train wreck just waiting to happen in my opinion. But then again maybe not. My dad has a friend who is an MVP of Microsoft.
I'll get Vista Ultimate for free
