Re-Install your windows or repair it.

The problem is a Virus not giving access to the Taskmanager.

And the other problems are the explorer.exe in the system32 folder in the windows folder.

Restart your computer. As soon as you do, INSTANTLY click Alt Ctrl Delete to bring up the task manager(it will work as soon as you boot, but not after), then click Tasks->New task and type in explorer.exe.

Try it.

The task manager can be opened manually via the run command box found at Start > Run. That is, if you've found a way to somehow get to the start menu.

Code: Select all

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
It usually works. It does for me, at least.

If for some reason that doesn't work, just try here. Google has a million results for that. There's even a software patch on Download.com that will fix this problem.

I'm assuming you've found a way to bypass this problem and post here on your computer. If not, and you're posting from another computer, I honestly don't know. I'd just suggest reinstalling Windows.

I HAD THIS. Ok get your Internet Explorer open. Download FireFox open FireFox, download Mcafee. Ok now, get to your run menu thing.. (control R (?)) type in explorer.exe. That will brging all your icons back find mcafee when it all loads, and then scan your computer. The virus I think you have is called Quadad, or something.

If you have an HP you could easily system restore. I do that when I have viruses, seems to work beautifully!

Depends on the type of virus. I believe System Restore only affects executable files that have been run on the computer. If you got the virus, say by visiting a web site, then I don't think System Restore can fix it. But I might be wrong.

I have a virus I can get around on my old piece of shit computer...I'm able to get into task manager if I try to open it like straight away before the virus can excecute, I simply end its process and everything's fine for me...

Other than that, system restore.
Reinstalling windows may or may not get rid of the problem, as the virus would still be on the computer and may still be able to activate.

I don't know how to go about explaining it because I'm partially illiterate but Razn I think you're wrong. :P

He wasn't saying anything racist...He stated a Chinese guy said it was bad. Perhaps he used it to give a description.

I have no virus blocking software, no virus but an error from a old one. I must have a condom around my internet connection! ;_;

I went several months without a firewall and managed to be fine.

That was actually sarcasm.

If anyone talks to me on MSN or AIM, they know Im very sarcastic, and I can find the smallest things to accuse someone of being racist ;p.

Its all fun and games.

Virus protection doesn't protect against idiots, and that's the main problem. I don't really have a virus protection on this either; it just gets way too annoying and it's not worth it.

your best chance is to reinstall windows, or to uninstall the file you think might be causeing the problem.

when did this problem start.

You might want to go into cmd and type netstat just to make sure it's not something serious like a trojan...if youve got a bunch of connections on random ports you never knew existed then chances are it's still there :P
