If I had the cash, I'd get it.

Just another thing to add to the "i" fad. People will buy anything that starts with the apple i.

Looks ok. It does sound cool though because it also comes with a widescreen iPod and my iPod broke...because I dropped it.

And people say Microsoft is trying to take over the world? Apple already has.

Well I have one.. What I have to say about it is..

PROS
Slim, easy, neat setup, MP3

CONS
Easily scratched.( no coverage of the face)
Battery dies quick ( 1-2 days)
You have to have a kit to get music on it.

OVERALL
9.0

But, those things probable apply to the iPhone too. Like scratches and stuff..

I lol'd. Apple is a FLEA compared to Microsoft in computing.
I want to save up for the 4 GB model. Considering I don't have a cell phone, and have been thinking about one for quite a while, if I save up a bit more and wait it out I might get it.

Do you know what marketing is? It's the same thing that Microsoft is doing with their "Live" services, such as Xbox Live, Windows Live Messenger, and Windows Live Search. The point is to make products branded and connected together in a family. It's not Apple's fault that a million other companies think that they're cool and name products like that as well; they just want to make stupid people think that it's the same product family.

I'm going to be watching the Keynote though for more cool stuff; how about starting an entire MacWorld San Francisco thread that this could be migrated into?

EDIT: Apple's laggy website is laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggy.

No thanks, I'll just buy the next video iPod model. 8GB isn't enough for all my music, let alone videos. For my phone, I'll either get an LG KE850 or a Samsung BlackJack to replace my RAZR.

Not saying the iPhone isn't beautiful. Looks to be very impressively featured as well. My dad seems interested, I hope he gets one so I cna mess with it.

Honestly, the only reason Apple will count this product as a success and possibly penetrate the market is because its Apple...Not because its a great phone that one needs. Look at phones from LG, Motorola and Nokia (Especially that new N95), they already have a super large and loyal customer base.

People will buy the iPhone because z0mg apple made teh iPod so it must be great! They have no experience in this already dominated sector...But I would like to see if it suceeds or not, and no I don't count suceed as hardcore fans: buying whatever Apple will make because everything they do is better than anything ever and its the first original thing and because they love mr Jobs.

And watch out! "Apple reinvents the phone!" OMG! They have text messaging! A calculator! A camera! An Mp3 player! OMG EVEN INTERNETS! Hell the "reinvention" is being able to see stocks... It doesn't even have 3g support such as UTMS and HSDPA (Which is 3.5mb/s broadband speed for your phone if you guys don't have it yet ;))

No, I'm not a fan of apple... Just incase you didn't notice that either.

iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log.
That sounds like it'd be rather inconvenient...I'm sure a few people/review sites will complain that it may be hard to hit the right thing sometimes, or it might call the wrong person because your finger is slightly off.

Also, smudges galore.

And, if it's anything like the iPod, it'll scratch easily. Honestly, the only good "i" thing, is iGeo :P

We had text messaging here way before the US, we have a lot more phone features here; Apple are hardly re-inventing it.

3G, 3.2 MegaPixel camera, awesome firmware... I'll stick with my SE.

Also, when in Cali last year, I noticed my cousins and most people my age didn't send stuff via Bluetooth... they were like sending images and sounds via MMS, which costs and is slow. Has "cell-phone" bluetooth not hit the US that big yet?

Its not that its not a big hit its the fact that there are so many different types of bluetooth that half of them arent compatible with the others.
