Halo 2 Cache Editor?

I dunno if you guys have ever modded Halo Xbox, but I started modding because of the Halo Cache Editor. If you guys don't know...
The Halo Cache Editor:
1. A FAST way of editting Halo ON your xbox.
2. It can only do swaps (the version I had at least)
3. Awesome way to impress friends who have never seen a modded xbox
I really think a Halo 2 Cache Editor would be amazing and fun if we could some how get an exact answer on if it could be done or not. I believe XboxWarez and NikejustDoit created it.
Here are some links to their sites:

Is it possible for it to be done? Discussion?

A Xbox application that could do simple edits of Halo 2 would be pretty cool.
I'm sure it could be done, but you'd have to configure the path where your .map files are. Not that that'd be a serious obstacle...anyway, I'd like to see one of those too.

I was under the impression that halo 2 cached mainmenu, shared and singleplayershared textures models etc...Not MP maps
but I could be wrong

This is also not a general Halo discussion board, there are boards for that on the User Forums.

He doesn't really mean a Halo 2 Cache Editor, he just means an Xbox application to make small edits for Halo 2.

The Halo Cache editor was able to do swaps (Make assault rifle shoot out rockets)
I assume it was for some quick entertainment and it could modify sp maps and mp maps. Just gotta play the halo map you wanna modify FIRST. Then restart ur xbox because the halo map is then edittable through cache file. The Halo Cache editor would then find the cache "stash" (in ur xyz folders) and then allow you to modify mc jump heighths, vehicle speeds, homing, and easy stuff like swaps.

Well then yes...
Whilst I'm not xbox coder, you'd have to have a config.ini or something similar to point to where you h2 maps are...
It'd have to be able to resign too...
But for something as simple as swaps etc then yes it wouldn't be impossible...
Doorm4n: Halo 1 cached its levels in XYZ drives unpacked...Unless Im wrong, halo1's caching did the MP levels (as you couldnt mod just the normal maps without uncompressing them on the computer or something), halo 2 doesnt.

Yes, but you could also edit values such as damage, speed, etc.
And yes Scotty, config.ini would be needed. And there's already an application that resigns on the Xbox.

Yes^
Or what if we had an application like the program TFAV made (auto xbox resigner) but was a very simple Dothalo. Very basic modifications would be allowed, and it would all be performed on the xbox (obviously). It finds halo 2 on your hard drive and then allows you to resign and edit?
It sounds easy but I know it would be a bitch to code

Well, you'd need someone with experience in:
1) xbox coding
2) halo2 app making.
Farklem or CLuis are the names that come to mind

No offense to the almighty CLuis but I think Farklem is more likley to do it...And also won't put skeet all through the app

Ya, of course farklem. But I'm also thinking we will need XboxWarez for some help SINCE he did figure out how to make the first Cache Editor
Anybody have close relationships with any of these pepes?
