In its last hours of GOP control, Congress passed a raft of bills big and small, most significantly a sweeping bill reviving expired tax breaks, extending trade benefits for developing countries and protecting doctors from a big cut in Medicare payments.

However, this will use $38 billion dollars over the next five years, and we already have Bush's tight budget.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Tax cuts = fail hard. They're going to make our budget be a lot more horrible and deficit-y. Just because the rich pay our Representatives and Senators to make themselves richer doesn't mean it'll help our collective country. For some reason though, people think it will. "OH NO, NOT ADDING 25 MORE CENTS TO MY INCOME TAX!!!" People need to smarten up and see that our economy will have to go through some times where we're taxed more to become better.

But the Medicare stuff and trade benefits are great.

yes i agree
we middle class(and poor) will not benefit from tax cuts to the rich
the trickle down theory is in fact very wrong
the rich ppl will only keep the money 4 them selves
plus with the buget deficit that we have we can afford to do this
bush has raised the borrowing limit but with the taxcuts we loose more $

bush is a greedy, money grabbing, oil tycoon.
I MEAN CONSERVATIVE!

mb once the democrats take control of the house/senate in january they will try to fix sum of this

sum times this country seems so fuqued up
look at europe

I am a Republican. Feel free to hate me. I really don't care what you think.

I am poor, but I think it is ridiculous that the wealthy have to give upwards of 50% of their income to the government when I, being poor, hardly give a thing at all. When my tax returns come back, I get nearly all that I had paid. Why is that? Doctors, people who often are the deciding factor whether we live or die, have earned every cent of what they have. I can
