Halo Movie

So what are you all expecting/hoping for in Peter Jacksons movie representation of the Halo Universe?

I personally cannot wait, I'm usually the one that is negative when games are turned into films, and don't get me wrong, this being Halo isn't the reason it's an exception... it's the fact Peter Jackson is making it, and having seen how good CGI Halo can be when the Halo Wars trailer came out, it just looked amazing. If the movie looks half as good as that, it will be worth watching, just for the visuals.

I also hope they use the original voices from the games, e.g. Cortana's, Sarge's etc. Not too fussed about Chiefs voice, as he only ever says one-liners.

Overall, /me can't wait. What about you?

i hope they have the flood look really creative, because if they dont, than i wont watch the movie, i think the flood is the most liked out of all armies. i mean killtocity is almost all about flood, or darker maps, thats what 65 maps. i also think that the models of the weapons will look real cool, because it might be hard for that.

I hope they use the original voices...and I hope they do a CGI-live action mix...but judging from the guy heading the CGI part (I forgot his name, but Veegie showed me some of his work), I don't think we have anything to worry about.

I don't see why all of you think Peter Jackson will capture the Halo story so well, he screwed up the LOTR story, (don't get me wrong I still like them,) and he will probably do the same with Halo.

then what does it matter, you said you still liked LOTR, then you should still like the Halo Movie.

I hope it's dark and realistic, and marketed to adults more so than children. Whenever you market it to kids below 18 it always ends up some light hearted, cheese-fest, with hardly any realism and/or dark twisted scenes.

I hope that the flood are creepy as hell, and that the pace is intense with guts and shit. I don't want it to be a "thriller action"... but I want there to be parts where you just want to cover your eyes.

Also, I hope they direct it on an "epic" scale. Tons of HUGE battle scenes, with thousands and thousands of extras/AI.

While they're at it, throw in Marcus and his Lancer and have him chainsaw an Elite in half. ^_^

Yay for 18+.

...just...no. That game had a storyline as shallow as the kiddy pool, and they tried to hard to make the characters manly half tanks. Calm down with the game obsession mb?

But Evolved's idea is good...the Flood should be all creepy and stuff, not just OMGSWARM. They should be something all scary and really make it seem like whoever's fighting them is fighting for their life.

and emphasize the fact they were once humans/covenant, we need to be able to see that in their behaviour, not just their appearance.

Considering most game---movie conversions are awful (Dead or Alive), I'm not really getting my hopes up either. But maybe it'll be worth it for the eye candy.

The Doom movie had nothing to do with the game story wise...it just had some similar names, and a similar setting as Doom 3 (except in the movie they don't go to hail).

I rather like Doom. Pretty good filming and a nice twist. And I may not be 18, and wont be 18 when this fim is released, but a good storyline (which it already has), a "well acted and produced" version of this storyline, and it not having Vin Diesel should make it alright. I'm rather excited, my Dad is too. >_>

I'm going to have to agree with Evolved. I'd like to see a movie that doesn't suck. As realistic as possible, within reason. Realistic to the game. If that makes any sense at all.

Have it look like Halo 2 would if it had amazing graphics, with the bonus of more gore, realistic effects that H2 just can't capture, and of course huge fugging battle scenes.

I would pay $8 just to see a cinematic quality video of The Library from Halo 1. Of course, that alone would be around at least a half an hour. :P
