I hope political discussions are allowed here. >_____>
What are your thoughts on Iran pursuing nuclear energy? Do you think they should have it? Should the United States, or other countries help them in attaining that goal? Discuss.

Nuclear Energy = Fine
Nuclear Weapons = Nono... but then, why should we be allowed them?
It's a very controversial subject... I don't feel they should be allowed nuclear capabilities, but then why are we to decide? Although we are the two most powerful countries in the world, that doesn't make us in charge of it.

There's a difference between a well established country, with actual nuclear policies, and accountability with other world powers (UN, NATO, etc.) having nuclear weapons, and a country that has a horrible reputation, no known agenda, and no accountability regarding control of nuclear energy. The US restricts itself regarding usage of these weapons. And as we can see from the North Korean (close ally of Iran) test launches, countries such as these have no regard for World Policies. If a country cannot follow the world guidelines surrounding nuclear power, then they don't deserve it. It's not smart, safe, or sensible to allow certain countries to have this power. Not only for US/UK safety, but for the safety of the entire world. It's like giving a pistol to a toddler.
Just my thoughts.

I didn't realise the discussion would get that deep, that quick. I one hundred per cent agree with you. It should the the decision of the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
I'm a hell of a lot more worried about N. Korea then Iran, dunno why... G.W. doesn't seem to be too concerned, because their missiles can only reach Alaska... nice knowin' ya Kirk.

I say let them have nuclear energy...but they shouldn't use it for weapons.

Iran couldn't have picked a better time to start attempting to work with nuclear devices, regardless of whether they are meant as a weapon or a source of energy. I think they should be allowed of course, as a source of energy it could bolster Iran's economy and make it a better country. This irreproachableness could spread out like a righteous disease, and transform the middle-east in a good manner. This is, of course, assuming energy is Iran's actual plan.
As for North Korea, they've proven what they desire and will undoubtedly cause the beginnings of a nuclear war... A deadly, but necessary conflict.

Why can't we all just be happy? [Edit] Actually, this is a problem everywhere really. The wanting of nuclear weapons is a tempting thought around the world. Makes the country that has them feel safe, but other countries more on edge. Like us, which is why we're having this discussion.

Unfortunately it makes most countries such as Iran/North Korea feel more powerful, than it does safe.

Iran hate America more then we hate them. They burn US flags and have anti America parades i don't doubt they just want to get a nuke and drop it on America. They don't want peace they just want death to America.

Their radicals are much more...radical than ours, indeed.
We're patriotic, they're just fucking crazy...I don't remember the last time a US citizen committed a terrorist act.
Fuck this, I'm moving to Australia. /waves at Scotty.

I don't know, I've seen some Australian Racist Gang Shit... pretty crazy stuff. I think your safest bet is moving to Canada. No one cares about Canada.
Or... buy your own remote island.

We're in the south gtaf. Why would anyone want to hurt us? ^_^ And what Xero said is true as well, they'd blow us to hell if they could, but we wont let them. Of course, terrorists have scewed version of their religion. Islam wasn't even supposed to be like this, it was originally just supposed to unite 2 fighting tribes. America also wasn't the original infidel.

Well I don't mean against his own country...I should have worded it "against another country".
IE, I haven't heard of a US citizen suicide bombing a Iraqi embassy.

Yeah it is. The Qur'an also says that killing another muslem will send you straight to hell. How many muslems I wonder how many have died by the hands of a terrorist since 9/11? (including 9/11)
