Vista is another operating system. If you install it over Windows of course it will replace your operating system.
You can reinstall Windows.
Let me ask you something first:
Why in the hell did you install Windows Vista?
I don't mean to flame, but if you just wanted to see how it looks you should take the trial when Vista is bugless. Right now it is in development.

Well it said "This installer will put your old windows into a folder called Windows.old. Although it will not be boot able, all your data will be retrievable from this folder." or something to that extent. So I thought they were making a backup of windows, well I assumed in my n00bness with OS installing that I would be able to use this back up to make XP run again, I assumed wrong. Besides it was Release Candidate 1, so I assumed that most of the bug were gone, its pretty bugless although a few programs fail to run properly, again I'm a noob, and I really wanted to test Vista out.

But I know that would be too mean. So, I won't say a thing.
No but really, do you have a key for it? Maybe you could try to ask a representative from Microsoft to send you a cd?

Just download the lastest version. I ordered one like a month ago and it never came. But then I just saw the download for the DVD iso. You should download unless you don't have a DVD burner and high speed internet.
