HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

It's official, Bill Gates has got to die, well, maybe not literally?. I am soooooooooooooooo royaly Fucking fed up with micro$$oft right now.

First they swear up and down that H2 will never hit PC, so i buy an XBOX

I play halo2, and am happy, untill i beat it about half-way through the story

then i realize that they are going to finish the story on the XBOX 360 version, for which i would have to buy an XBOX 360, and get a little pissy, but there is still hope of backwards-compatability with the game itself, perhaps it wil run a bit toned-down on XBOX (hey a guy can dream)

then, H2 pc is announced, so the only reason i bought an XBOX no longer exists, really pissed off

now it is official, h2 is DEFINITELY only going to be available on XBOX 360, which is currently un-available and costs $400 plus tax for the functional version

so now what? we gonna discover that you'll need to buy the XBOX 720 to get the second part of Halo 3? then the XBOX 1080 after that?

so yeah, i guess i'm gonna have to kill Gates, who's with me?

I wouldn't kill him. I'd praise his marketing staff for a move. It may make a couple XBox Owners mad, but you got to admit, it was a smart business move. Be nice to Bill Gates. If it weren't for him, no Microsoft, No X Box, No Halo, No Halomods.

Praise his marketing staff? his marketing staff are the jackasses screwing us over. and wihtout M$, halo would have been for Mac OS originally, and thus, even more the best FPS ever

Uh.....Xbox 360 isn't used in the context of a sequel. It represents 360 degrees (a circle), which means the Xbox 360 is basicly really powerful.

I honestly don't see what is wrong with their strategy. If Halo was made for the Macintosh, it wouldn't have gained its popularity that it has today, and most likely wouldn't have had sequels or be what it is today. Halo also set a standard for first person shooters to achieve.

I myself own an Xbox and Xbox 360. I have never experienced a problem with either of them, unlike my Playstation 2. I think that it is a dandy piece of equipment, and Live makes it above the rest in my opinion.

Edit: Edwin, I would advise you to stop the name calling. I understand this is a hot topic for you, but flaming will lead nowhere.

as did their previous FPS (which, by the way, is essentially the first version of Halo, same general story line), and both sequels, and the countless mods and TCs

Mods aren't really Bungie's fault. They didn't release the SDK for Halo. Halo modding is more of the underground type of modding if that's what you call it. As for the storyline, sequels generally have the same storyline, unless it was a clear decisive ending.

no, i was refering to the Marathon serries.

Well... since Halo 2 was boring me, so I made my xbox into a linux server, and I'm waiting for H3 to come out before I get a 360, with Bungie's long history of delaying projects you'll have a while to save up for a 360 if you really want it. Plus you can't really hate Gates for wanting to make money... I know I'll be getting both H2PC and H3.

H3 is the last halo.
Also, who cares, you got to play it for a year before it came out on pc

I understand what you mean Edwin, im sick of buying systems for everything I have been highly anticipating, but thats just the way it always works sadly enough.

But I'm going to buy the 360 anyways because if thats what i have to do to play halo 3, so be it.

Bill Gates doesn't even make these decisions.Besides Halo2 on XBL is better then it will ever be on PC.

Halo 2 on Live is way better than Halo on PC.
