C# Programmers Wanted, Payment will be negotiated

You may remember me from the old HighImpactHalo forums as the sassy+sexy manager of Tangerine Hosting. Well, I've moved on to better things, and now I'm looking for additional help with a few projects. I am in need of programmers with a good knowledge of the C# language. You will be required to work with Visual C# 2005 (Express edition is fine) and must have expertise in one fo the following areas:

* Networking
* Databases (ADO.NET)
* GDI+/Control Development
* General (None of the above)

We're not looking for people who can draw a button on a page and call themselves GUI designers, but by no means are we seeking all-knowing professionals. As long as you have a fair bit of knowledge in one of those four areas, you should fit well. There's always room to learn more! However;

* No Java, C++, VB.net, etc. C# only. We can't very well mix Java code with C#, now can we?
* Don't be expecting $20/hr with a full dental and medical plan
* If you're under 18, that's fine, in fact we encourage it. It's a good way to get into the professional programming scene.
* Not all applicants will be accepted, I have a funny feeling 90% of the applicants (not just from here) will be applying as "General". We need Database/Networking/Graphics too remember!!

Payment will be negotiated one on one, do not consider this to be a full time or part time job... consider it to be a "profitable hobby". The most flexible hours ever!

If you're interested, get in touch with me via email (liam at xerasoft.com) or we can talk over AIM (I4MLI4M).

Have a spectacular day!

Well I may not be that good at it now, but I am working on getting better at professional graphics editing, perhaps we can talk in the near future.

Well its not really Halo related, I'm not going to move it but if any other moderators want to be my guest.

I'd say keep it here. Not really a recruitment but more of a job offer.

Ah, ok, thanks... I was thinking about that, but I decided not to post it in there as it's not really Halo-related (like Jks said).

Unfortunately our current project is somewhat classified. I know, it sounds pretty stupid, but we think it's a great product idea and we'd hate for someone to beat us to the market with a similar product. If we get into talks it'll all be revealed.

Beta testers will be needed in the future, so if you send me an email (listed in the first post) I'll add you to a list of probable testers. It will be pretty hard work though, you'll need to work through all the features, pressing different buttons, trying different methods, etc. in an attempt to get it to exception.

People with a knowledge of VB.net and in the process of learning C# will have a higher chance of being accepted over someone learning C# with no other .NET knowledge, so if you brush up a bit we can get into discussions.

Thanks!

As stated before, it has nothing to do with Halo, or other video games.

This is not some prepubescent's attempt at a "business", this is an authentic operation developing advanced networking software. I came here as I knew there would most likely be a lot of talented C# programmers.

So? You can still write a web browser in VB5 :P

Anyway, unless you can write your own HTML renderer and write something to connect to an HTTP server from the internet, anyone can slap on a Web Browser control and hook up button events to it :)
