(laughs) Nerdy question, but which is better? I think Star Wars is better.
Before you post make sure it's not negative, although you can say which is better. In this topic you can't bash Star Wars or Star Trek. You can't bash nerds, and you can't post negative things.
No stupid questions, ok?

I like both equally. I like the special effects, fight scenes, and spaces scenes in Star Wars and in Star Trek I like the story line better.

The old Star Wars movies (which funnily enough came out first) were the best.
The new movies however (Episode 1 etc) are insanely shit! The acting is just horrible.
Although the graphics, FX and all that were amazing.
Aand Star Trek I never really watched so I say Star Wars.

Me being an uber trekkie...hehe
I didn't quite like Star Trek 1, but 2,3,4 worked together well, and 5, well, needed some work, but explored some interest in the reality of God, but not at the same time. Star Trek 6 I think was a well designed plot, acting, etc.
Starwars, I really like the "original" 4,5,6 episodes, (first 3 movies), because they did an awesome job with the story line, limited graphic technology, but awesome still.
Regarding Epy 1,2,3 for starwars, I did like 1 & 2 because of the general story line, but it well, "needed" more work, because the main characters were "there" but not "for us". More like sliding pictures, nothing much, but the aliens, and gungans etc (forget spelling), were inventively funny, and intriguingly unique.
Regarding Epy 3, now, I didn't like the "how" vader became vader, but... Then again, I never read the books, etc. However, I did like how the "ships" slowly developed to being "similar" if not "almost the same" as star wars IV, (4), which was the first created. They rap'd up the timeline almost perfectly, (not sure on specifics), but it was well finnished, though it felt somewhat "speeded up" to catch up to the proper timeline. However, I didn't see much of "the clone wars" as though it would have seemed there should have been something about that. Yes there were clones, tonnes, but... you know that's it? (special effects, depth of the effects, details of the surrounding environments, was insanely high def, and then some).
And back to star trek,
I like the Next Generation Films, alot, especially First Contact, and Insurection because they were directed by Jonathan Frakes (Commander Will Riker), And Levar Burton (however you spell his name), helped alot, because those 2 are genius's when it comes to directing for star trek films, plots, etc.
Star Trek Nemesis, definately was a well planed out film, but it felt somewhat "short lived" though, and the ending was O_O, but I liked the "hint" of a possible "new movie" beyond where they were at. Because everything was rap'd up, but... not, you know? They did an awesome job none the less.
But this is my thoughts,

STAR TREK FTW!
Edit: The only good star wars movies were the ones that George Lucas didn't direct. He sucks at directing.
Editx2: The only good actor in Star Wars 1/2/3 was Watto, and he wasn't even real. That shows my opinion of those movies.

Just to clarify, Space Balls is a parody film by Mell Brooks, it is hilarious. It is not some creepy Star Wars porno.

Star Wars is Star Wars.
Star Trek with Shatner has some hilarious directing. Soooo many close ups of his face.
Star Trek with JEAN LUC PICARD has good story line.
But star wars has boba fett and a line of good games behind it.
Star Trek has neither.
Star Wars FTW.

You mean names, right? Or games. Well yeah, there were quite a few SW games, but I really wouldn't base this on games...

Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 are my favorite.
But the ORIGINAL Star Trek, back when they used real science and physics concepts, totally owned. Anything after that (next generation, etc.) are just dumb.
Leonard Nemoy = awesome

star trek is more realistic... you'd more likely fight with Lazers than swords in the future.
