I found some neat facts on the internet that you guys might be interested in.

- Its 90 million miles to the sun from earth
- The earth weighs about 6,000 trillion trillion tons
- Uranus is so cold gases like helium and methan condense into liquids
- Jupiters gravity is powerful enough to make hydrogen compress into a solid
- If you could get a big enough bathtub,Saturn would float in the water
- Coldest possible temperature: - 273.15 degrees Celcius
- New planet has been discovered in our solar system, planet Sedna (dont know if i spelled that right ill have to check)

Hope you enjoyed reading that :) it was an interesting find for me

I knew a couple of those  . The distasnce from the earth to the sun if I am not mistakn is 90,000,000 but is in scientific terms a "Astronomical Unit". Also correct me if I am wrong again but - 273.15 degrees Celcius is also know as 0 kelvin. The new planet I recently did a report on. This is a article I also did a report on. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4261522.stm

Science is always intresting  where I live we are around a year ahead of the schools in the US so thats why I knew some of that stuff there. No im not in canada or the uk though...

Sedna is not a planet. It's basically a big rock in space.
Why are you feeding us such LIES? :P

if Sedna is not a planet, then PLuto is not a planet? cause if im right, dont they think they mistaked Pluto to b a planet and the moon is bigger than pluto if im right...

Haha, I remember learning that! If you convert that temperature into Kelvins, you would have 0.000000000000000001 degrees. Anything colder would be called Absolute Zero, and that is impossible to happen.

you forgot the largest mountain in the solar System, Olympus Mons. 3X the height of Everest and wide as th chain of the Hawaiian Islands.

-273.15 is not the lowest temperature, -273 is, or 0K. -273.15 might be the lowest lab attained temp but thats .15 over the lowest, its absolute zero, no atomic movement whatsoever.

isnt olympus a VOLCANO on mars?

correct me if im wrong plz

yeah, astronomy is by far one of my favorite subjects, i have a LOT of fun with celestia, kinda creepy zooming up on asteroids, but fun

Only problem is that there are some mountains on the sun (like fire pillars) that are way taller if you consider them mountains. more like really big explosions!

Precisely. Thats why its the coldest possible temperature, you cant go slower
than not moving obviously.

did you know that if the sun became a black hole it wouldent suck in any of the planets in our solar system, because black holes have an effective radous?

no offence but that was a g@y statement :| In order for the sun to become a black hole,it has to get old and explode, and that alone would blaze our solar system out of existence. And that "effective radius" is called the event horizon.

duh! :x

do you think im stupid? i said that **IF** the sun became a black hole, because it is too small. and some people might not know what a event horizon or singularity is.

and anyway a star DOSN'T explode or "blaze our solar system" to form a black hole, it forms when its own gravity becomes too strong and there is not enough heat to counteract it thus squishing it into a black hole.

Well he's assuming that it skipped the whole red giant and supernova stages. In fact if the sun magically became a black hole the earth would move outward slightly, because some mass is used when a sun becomes a supernova. Another interesting fact is that when a star becomes a supernova, it releases more energy in that little time than it produces the entire time that it is a star.

it definantly isnt our sun. you cant tell for sure either, because the universe is so huge
