This is insane!! A japanese man has overclocked a Pentium 4 (running at 3.8ghz stock) to 7ghz!!

For all those who don't know what overclocking is, (this is a short explanation, and not the most accurate) Proccesors are tested to run stabily at one speed, such as this Pentium 4, however it is possible to to make it run faster by overclocking it, overclocking used to be very hard and only for hard core geeks, but nowaday's most motherboards come with software to easily overclock it's proccesor. The sideffects of overclocking are alot of excess heat, and after a certain speed they go a bit crazy.

But this japanese man has taken a Pentium 4 670, with an ASUS P5WD2 Premium mobo. and 2 sticks of CORSAIR PC2-5400UL 512MB memory. With a LIQUID NITROGEN COOLING SYSTEM and succesfully overclocked it to 7132mhz, or roughly 7ghz. Here's some pics:

Here's a link to his blog. Unfotuanately it's in japanese, and using google's translater makes it into nonsense. But what I could gather from the horrible translation is that he overclocked it to over 7ghz for 14 seconds.

That is amazing!

Actually, if you want to make your computers processor better you can just get a small processer with hyperthreading, then it doubles the processing speed, no extra stress on it. Thats what I have on my 2.7 something processor.

Meh, it can't stay at 7 GHz for that long...

Only a couple seconds.
