some of the specs are unbelievable

i would get it but its 5000 dollars and my hydro bill would go through the roof

i know its 2 300GB drives,im just saying 600 cause thats what it adds up too.The_Hushed_Casket wrote:Holy crap that' a ripoff, I bet you I could build a way better system for a fraction of the price. In fact, just for fun one time I checked the price for my dream machine. for a little over $7,000 bucks, I could get and Athlon X2 dual core proccesser rig, with two 7800gtx's in SLi, an Audigy ZS 2, 500gb HDD, 4gb RAM, 7.1 surround sound system, and a 37" LCD TV.
And just so you know, it's not a 600gb HDD, they don't make them. It' two 300gb's in a RAID0 config. Two 300 gig's will run you down about $290.
What?! I'm guessing you mean Hard drive space, I wish I had a terabyte of memory, 32 bit CPU's only support up to 4gb's of memory. Although (theoretically) a 64 bit CPU could address 18 exabyte's of memory! (18 billion gigabyte's!) although with the available software it's I think 32gb of memory, although the time when that much memory for one machine is available will be relatively far off.jks wrote:1 TB of memory would only cost you about $300 :/
First off 1 Tb doesnt exist (yet) also they do make 600 Gb because i have an 800 Gb hard drive and yet i only use around 80 gbjks wrote:My dad built me a computer a year ago, I dont ever know what happened to it but it had specs comparable to that for WAY less. 1 TB of memory would only cost you about $300 :/
I will too once I finish building my new computer (which hopefully will be soon).Waverunner wrote:I just bought some RAM, so now I will have a total of 1 GB.
Are you sure it's not two 400gb's in RAID? Because I'd like to see that, and it would be pretty stupid to use a 600-800gb HDD in a computer because it would be much cheaper to use two 300-400gb's.DannyBoy wrote:also they do make 600 Gb because i have an 800 Gb hard drive and yet i only use around 80 gb
First off, dont talk unless you can back it, 1 TB exists, its just not available for commercial purchase, and second did you ever think of getting two 500 gig drives and putting them together?DannyBoy wrote:First off 1 Tb doesnt exist (yet) also they do make 600 Gb because i have an 800 Gb hard drive and yet i only use around 80 gbjks wrote:My dad built me a computer a year ago, I dont ever know what happened to it but it had specs comparable to that for WAY less. 1 TB of memory would only cost you about $300 :/
