Wrong. Completely. Logically, you would apply the base word, as I've said like 400 times. Why would you add an "A," when factually, the original word begins with an "O"? You would not. Logical is not what you are trying to say there, because that is wrong. "Pwn" is a misspelling of "own." We are talking about "pwn." We are not talking about "pawn." The words are not the same, and suggesting a scenario in which "pawn" is a verb to assert dominance is irrelevant to this conversation.Kirk wrote:If everyone didn't say "pwned" (however you pronounce it) pawned would seem so much more logical.
Until someone can give a logical reason to pull an "A" out of their ass and shove it into that word, throwing out the "O" which factually comes from the base word, I will continue to maintain the incompetence of such claims.

Pwn is pronounced with an O.
If you are saying it with an A, you are saying a different word. If you claim it is spelled "pwn," you are wrong.
The end. Logic, reason, and intelligence are on this side.
This is probably the second dumbest argument I've been in on this site. Done.

WHY does it even freaking matter? The way I see it (in fact I

did anyone else think MJ when they got a look at the nose of the guy who played Link in that video?

Except you totally missed the point of my post. With the absence of pwn, pawn would seem more logical. I am not talking about some BS mistyping of own, I'm talking about pawn. Used as some sort of "beat-down" word, pawned makes perfect sense. Disagree all you want, it has much more meaning than pwn ever will. I don't give a shit about the spelling or pronunciation of "pwn" as I've already expressed my feelings for the word several times but you still can't realize that I'm not talking about the fucking word. We're talking two different arguments here.Tural wrote:Wrong. Completely. Logically, you would apply the base word, as I've said like 400 times. Though yeah, this is pretty pathetic

EDIT: I'm sorry, but I could not stop laughing throughout that entire trailer.
Link looks so... weird. Look at him when he first puts his armor on, then has that ceiling shot of him wearing his hat and he looks up. He reminds me of someone, but I can't think of who.. the way he acts sort of reminds me of Chris Kattan, but that's not who he really reminds me of.

I guess me directly addressing your point means I completely missed it.Tural wrote:suggesting a scenario in which "pawn" is a verb to assert dominance is irrelevant to this conversation.
This conversation is about a pronunciation, you are off on a tangent about a completely different word, which is not what we are discussing.
But you are the only person talking about a separate word. You're talking to yourself, as the posts surrounding yours, Jackson's, were about "pwn." You injected an irrelevant point into the conversation and nobody changed topic to your new one. It is only you saying that, that is why it is irrelevant.Kirk wrote:Two arguments Tural, we already finished with that one.
ffffffffff
I want to split like, the last two pages. This is dumb.
