Um...I prefer PCs too. But that's the lamest argument I've heard in a while. EXE is just Window's extension for programs and executable files. Linux and Mac OS each have their own extensions for programs and executable files.metkillerjoe wrote:PC has the .exe.

man, this is going on, and probably will be for a while
Macs are expensive, but have a good look. they are good to buy out of the box and go, but you can't customize them. they are good for graphics, but have a small game selection.
PCs are inexpensive, customizable, personal, have a wide game selection, and are good at generally everything, you just have to tell them what to do. for example, what are webservers? pcs running some sort of unix/linux OS 90% of the time, and generally not Macs. i wonder if apple even uses appletalk and Mac servers on it's own personal business networks.

You can run Windows on all new Macs - so they have the exact same game selection as PC's. They're starting to put powerful graphics accelerators in as well.[cc]z@nd! wrote:man, this is going on, and probably will be for a while

I have to agree about customization though. Don't get me wrong, I love PC's as much as the next guy. Building computers is one of my favorite hobbies, it sucks that you can't build a Mac. However this is why a certain type of computer made by Apple appeals to me, and according to sales figures, the rest of the world as well; namely, the laptop. PC laptops are difficult to customize (save of course memory and hard drive upgrades, which are easily possible - possibly easier than PC's, on Mac laptops) and nearly impossible to build from scratch. I have a feeling I will always own a desktop PC. I don't like the all-in-one feel of the iMac, and unless I need a real media powerhouse the Mac Pro is above my budget. However the next computer I buy is going to be a MacBook (maybe Pro), which are priced surprisingly similarly to their PC counterparts.

for what?xXxCocoFangxXx wrote:LOL!!
also, i second the boob motion
lastly, if i get a laptop, as long as it has PCMCIA, i'm fine with buying any intel Mac. all i'll have to do is set up a dual-boot and i'm fine. (hmm .. maybe a triple-boot; XP, OSX, and backtrack...) so, i agree with the laptop statement.
and apple does seem to have the MP3 player market pretty much cornered.
but PCs still just have too much of an advantage in desktops and networking/business applications for me to go out and buy a Mac. i'm fine with what i have now, and i like it more than a Mac, personally.

Wrong. There's a little thing in Windows that keeps a lot of network ports open at one time, and that makes it much less secure. The OS itself is not secure without antivirus software. The Mac OS has virtually no holes in it, and that's why no one even tries to make viruses for it.Patrickssj6 wrote:Mac's less viruses?I always laugh at that.Ok people think for a min.
Macs are as capable to have viruses as PCs do.Why does Mac have LESS viruses?Cause there are more windows.Once more people get Macs there will be more viruses on mac then on windows.
Sure Apple do better descisions but I still would use a PC.
Personally, I use a Mac almost all of the time. However, I will be getting a PC soon to play all of those games I've been missing. My everyday tasks will still be performed on my Mac, because that's what I'm used to.
