That's true, but Vista has a 'greedier' graphical interface than XP. It uses lots of your resources. So if you want enough processing power left over to run the latest games etc., your going to want at least a mid-range graphics card.

you think they'll add an XP theme and/or a Win98 theme like xp?

I don't know. I've heard that they're stepping up the UI enough that a hardware graphics card will be a requirement for use, so it could be pretty different then other Windows interfaces.

Ive seen a beta of the new UI, its not much different except it looks like the start menu got a complete overhaul, and its a black theme, nice and glossy.

Yea the actual UI is very mac like, it even has something similar to that bouncy start whatchamacallit. In my theme its the one up top called stardock. But with Vista its not a program but its actually in the UI.

Good choice on the computer, but that video card is bad for a bad price. NEVER go to best buy for anything but the actual system, and even then you want to stay away from them, they price gouge stuff so much. Go to TigerDirect or NewEgg for your vid card.

But, if Windows is going to look like Mac, is it also going to be as dependable as it used to be?

Offtopic:T_H_C, Im curious, why do you got all these quotes from these people? first Fredrich Nietzsche, now Karl Marx? Do you like Germans, or anti Democratic people?

Democracy isnt the best form of government, marxist communism is. But thats another story. Why would UI changes make a system less dependable, and since when has Windows ever been dependable?

More like atheists and communists but close enough. I just like the quotes.

And for the record, Karl Marx was not anti-Democratic, he once said 'Democracy is the road to socialism,' he was anti capitalism.

I got an X800 for the same price but my clock and memory speeds are comparible to a Geforce 7800, or X1800. I would recommend you get this card I have but I dont think they sell it anymore.
