Silly religious preachers that try and sway me to "embrace god and all he stands for"....Makes me sick to the boots tbh, I will choose what to believe in and what not to thank you very much and the idea of a god and worshipers only reminds me of the master and slave the slave worships the master untill they realized that the master was the same as the slave.
If i believe in anything it will be that the universe was created by the "Big Bang" theory seems way more viable or palatable than that some geezer in a white robe saying something happens.

You think all those events happened oh so perfectly that we breathe perfectly, have all the resources we need, that we can talk, walk, hear, see, etc, and work properly?
I just doubt that. The chances are way too small.
Even if we weren't made by God...Something had to create the universe and that is God.

Avoid religious arguments, nobody's ever* going to be converted arguing on the internet, it only causes problems.

I certainly think 28.75 billion years is long enough to at least form some things...-DeToX- wrote:You think all those events happened oh so perfectly that we breathe perfectly, have all the resources we need, that we can talk, walk, hear, see, etc, and work properly?

So first, there was nothing. Nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which then turned in to dinosaurs.warlord wrote:If i believe in anything it will be that the universe was created by the "Big Bang" theory seems way more viable or palatable than that some geezer in a white robe saying something happens.
You can make any religion (or lack thereof) sound stupid if you try, so yeah, you may not like what they're preaching, but just try looking at your own beliefs from another angle and you'll realize they're all pretty hard to believe.

You really have no idea about the big bang theory, do you? Or were you referencing that de-motivator?GametagAeonFlux wrote:So first, there was nothing. Also, guys, its pretty easy to ignore the fact about why we're here, and just be satisfied that we're here living.

Just referencing the demotivator. I think you missed the point of my post. I'll just quote what I responded to warlord's PM with:JunkfoodMan wrote:You really have no idea about the big bang theory, do you? Or were you referencing that de-motivator?
I never said I had a problem with your beliefs, or wanted to hear them. I was just saying what may seem silly to you may seem logical to someone, and they may view your belief as silly.
I don't intend to change anyone's beliefs with my statement(s), but I dislike how Atheists (same goes for any religion on any other belief) automatically are like "lol ur stoopd how cna u thnk this r tru?".
I just wanted to get my point across that I agree with what GTAF said in the last half of the quote, but not specifically to Atheists.
However, I'm not going to bring up any arguments or discuss it any further because if there were ever a topic that's quite opinionated with no definitive right and wrong, that can cause large feuds, this be it...So I guess time to stop

Well, on the note of the big bang theory, scientists are actually able to make models of the universe approximately that far back. Not all the way back to the very beginning, but sorta close. Not using light energy, but microwave (I believe) energy. There's been a satellite out orbiting earth for quite a while picking up microwave energy that we classify as ordinary static (about 2% of the static on blank tv channels is energy from something). And their models suggest that the universe was once more compact than spread out, and it's been theorized that the universe is expanding. Something had to set that in motion, and an explosion of some sort sounds quite reasonable to me.
I'm not saying the big bang was the only way the birth of our universe could happen, I'm just merely stating that an explosion could have contributed. And that their is obviously some flaws to the theory, as all other theories do.
My rant is, I hate it when people can't keep their religious/scientific stance out of a discussion, and when either side can't just open their views in a bit to maybe believe a little bit of each side. How each side is so bias to their own side that anything else is certainly not true.
