Ha, quite the contrair, marijuana has actually been proven to promote the growth of brain cells, not kill them. And of course it's some what addictive it's the fact that there is no effects after you quit, your body does not gain any dependency on the drug.

A buddy of mine smoked before every major test he has and he does very well. He thinks it calms him and makes him focus all his attention on the test only. He even writes his essays high...Trust me I was in his class and his grades only got better...

Make it illegal.

We'll have a huge problem on our hands, if it's legal.

Like most things in medicine, its probably arguable for both sides. People react to it differently.

Its like poison ivy. I think most people are mildy allergic, some extremely, and others don't feel any side effects.

I believe marijuana should be legalized and have thought this way for a good many years:

Image

This is a chart comparing the effects of other drugs in relationship to marijuana. As you can see its barely any worse (health wise) to your body then caffeine. And as I'm quite sure everyone has done caffeine since its in just about all popular sweets, and drinks, then the real question is "Why isn't it legal ?".

Me and some of my friends have been wondering the same issue for a while. And we finally could only conclude it was for the taxation situation. Which to that I would ask this question, "why is it our fault the government cant control taxes." , and "Why should it hinder our judgments on the plant?"

This is why I must conclude this plant be legalized.

This is permitted as a discussion of legality, not drugs. If it was "Hey, do you like pot?," it wouldn't be allowed. I've already removed one post of a member admitting to using drugs however, which is being enforced in this thread.
I wonder who that member was.

Has anyone found out about any countries where it is legal? The last time I heard, drugs aren't really a problem in places like Holland. Perhaps we should decriminalise it then; allow small amounts for personal use, but ban large quantities from being imported and exported? It's just an idea.
For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

Amsterdam, many others too, Many countries have had it decriminalized as well.

EDIT: Chad, I didn't just pull that out of my ass. I learned quite a lot about the drug because of a research paper for my health class on the subject. Look it up, and study will prove that it does in fact help spur the growth of brain cells.

Hell, tons of people murder. Let's just make that legal, too.

I don't really know. I'm against it, but I'm not sure it should be illegal, either.

So make video games illegal, because people play them a lot. Make everything that can give you any happiness illegal.

You mean the current issue of filling of jail cells with potheads? Gee, thats bad. Shame theres no room for rapists and murderers. Shame we are using tax dollars on locking up guys and gals that want to smoke a bit of herb.

Sad part is thats true there is a thief around where i live robbing people a rapist attacking woman in my area and these people are just roaming the streets free but instead they will put 3 or 4 undercover cops at a train station and bust some 15 year old kids for smoking a little joint.

You obviously have proof that we aren't able to lock up these people. I'd personally, and honestly, like to see the article that informs us that there's no room for them, so the government decided to allow them to roam free.

Allright, lets play the scenario in which marijuana is legalized, and it's currently being collected, manufactured, and delivered to the companies that do whatever the hell they want to it. What happened to cigarettes? They were filled with nicotine and other addictive substances, so that withdrawal is intense, and life-threatening. It gets you addicted, it screws with your biological features, it kills you. Now, onto marijuana. Addictive substances now added, people are heavily addicted to it. Withdrawal becomes a pain, and dependency is incredibly high. That's until most of the population can't live without it. And this'll do the same thing as cigarettes does, but with different side effects. It'll screw with your brain, it'll probably change you other ways, biologically, as well, but most of all, it'll kill you.

That information, plus all the information provided by Mental Health.org

97% of the anti-pot posts, and quite a few of the pro-pot ones in this topic have broken BEEF's second rule. Want to say Pot is 300 times more harmful than a cigarette? Great! Just provide a reliable source with scientific proof that agrees with you.

Personal morals have no place in this debate. You should view this as a black and white situation; the positive and negative effects legalization might have.

Actually, if it is legalized, you could simply grow it in your backyard without worrying about a company putting addatives into it.

I've taken a ride with a high person driving before, needless to say, we got to our destination safely. I've never noticed or heard of a high person commiting any dangerous crime (well no duh  ).

Ombre, was that at all directed at me?

Nothing meant by it, I was just curious.
