you made it seem as though asking her out was literrally going somewhere and thats it sorry for the confusionAumaan Anubis wrote:"bug and annoy" as in, talk to her on AIM and whatnot, like we usually do.
I was pretty positive that the steps in a relationship were
"Out" --> "Girlfriend"
Dunno if the other way has any other unforseen effects?

In what way?GametagAeonFlux wrote:These are all horrible ideas for any sort of relationship (even as friends). She'll see you as a weak, desperate individual which is a major turnoff.Aumaan Anubis wrote:If she says no, I will specifically ask her if she's telling a lie to spare my feelings, or if she's being serious.
I'll probably just ask if there's a chance of her saying yes at a different time. You can't really avoid that one...
Plus, if she says no, I'll probly just bug and annoy her on AIM as I usually do, we'd be friends again in no time
Asking her to be truthful is seen as weak?
Ohhh, like, the asking her at a different time part?
I dunno, never been in a relationship, so...

It is expected, and demanded.Tural wrote:MrMurder, we're going to hold you to that promise.

1) People are superficial and lie. If you don't overanalyze shit people say, it's not a problem. Questioning the truth of someone's statement is bad because if they were telling the truth, it makes you seem like a paranoid freak, and if they were lying then the confrontation spawned from it is just annoying and would probably make your friendship really awkward.Aumaan Anubis wrote:If she says no, I will specifically ask her if she's telling a lie to spare my feelings, or if she's being serious.

2) "At a different time" makes you seem clingy. Girls don't like clingy just as much as guys don't. If she likes you, cool, if she doesn't then tough shit. Move on in life, there are plenty of other girls out there.
3) Forcing a friendship is a bad idea. People come and go in life...if you fucked up your friendship just move on and get over it.

That just made my day. I'll go to work, hang out with some friends and then go to my raid.GametagAeonFlux wrote:Fixed.0m3g4Muff1n987 wrote:[...]and if I didn't do it then, I will be stuck in the black hole that is friend's zone with her for the rest of my life, even though she probably won't put out anyway because she's a church girl.

Believe it or not, that really helps. Thanks. I might just do that.kibito87 wrote:Guys, seriously. Don't be afraid to ask them out on a date or atleast to get some coffee or something. You have nothing to lose. It actually shows the girl that you have the confidence to approach her. Trust me, it's better than just waiting. Waiting almost always gets you nowhere and from what you've already experienced, nowhere is lonely.
