What is up with modding today?

Either way, I don't see what the problem is with the community. A lot of the stuff I do is very basic and can be done in a reasonable amount of time, but everyone's too busy in log land to actually do anything original...

All the CE maps are completely un-origonal

well as far as you know. there is still so many things in production you've probably never seen :p

there are quite a few cool maps but none are released yet : (

halo pc modding is complete shit now. there is 1 new good remodeler, osama. everyone else who tries sucks since me l33t legato and merc left there have been no decent models besides 2 egotistic assholes who were somewhat ok but got banned for being retarded. and osamas

ce is still rather fine. well the maps that don't get relased every day. arteen's still at work. wol has got his projects cmt has some nice new maps arteen made some nice original ones for cmt, i remade some h2 ones >_>...(boring) halo ce has just slowed down a lot due to the lack of talented people.

i think we should do a classic pc modding contest. like with pmi and such but no hce converted content

I was alright at remodeling, when I actually could. :X

I want to see some good PC mods come out, and more good CE maps. It seems that all the good CE projects are endlessly being updated (not a bad thing, just a bit tedious for us impatient bastards), and instead hundreds of terrible excuses for maps are being spammed all over halomaps to fill the gap. The actual Halo gaming community has descended into suck, a lot of the people over at GBX and such are still good and we still have some bright sparks here, but Halo is getting trashed by immature, unstable, and just plain stupid prepubescents who are forcing all the good people out... I mean, a lot of them are still hanging out at GBX, but lately, p0lar, rec0, Blind, me, and a couple of others I forgot have all moved on to other games for the most part (although rec0 is still haxxing Halo, and I occasionally turn out a mod - got some HUD issues to fix with my latest)...

What we need is another fanboy magnet of a game to come out, so we can have our beloved Halo back

Halo Custom Edition. You can make custom maps (levels), vehicles, weapons, etc. You can download it for free if you have the full version of halo. Even if you don't make custom maps its still fun to play other peoples. You should definatley try it out.

In other matters, I seriously can't help hardly anyone out these days now because everyones interested in Halo 2 Xbox modding... bleh

I'm still happy just doing my own thing with HaloPC and couldn't care less. I have my own hosting and resource site, so I'm ok thanks.....

Seriously though, I've made a few minor break throughs, which should allow me to take my modding to a new level over the next couple of months.

Once H2PC comes out, I will probably move on to that.
