The more I hear about this game, the less I want to play it.
I loved Morrowind. From what I hear Oblivion has a much more medieval feel to it, with much much less varied architecture (like Ald'Rhun in Morrowind) and pretty much is just castles galore. I also heard the items are somewhat scarce =/

Don't get me wrong, I'd still love to play it, but it's quickly becoming less and less worth the money in my mind, considering I'd need to buy a new gfx card, or an xbox360

If you play though the main story, you'll have to close one outside of each city as part of the Help for Bruma quest, and at the end of the main story, all are closed, regardless of how many you closed outside of quests.

It's not even neccecary to close all of them, just the main outside the city so don't waste your time with others because all the reinforcments you get from them just die at the beginning of the gates anyways. The gates arent worth your time unless you have some skills that you really want to level up.

the game does have some visual crap to it, like blurry textures from afar and crappy water reflection, anyways just play through the main quest and you'll find the "Great Gate", actually that isn't even the end of the main quest line.

The main gate doesn't appear until you get to the final stage of the main quest, it comes up out of the ground. You'll have Martin and guards from each city there to help you.

Get a Xbox 360 or a new GFX card. It's worth it, trust me... Oblivion 20x better than Morrowind...

i just got it and i love it. i'm a breton mage (yet to level up, don't really ever sleep in the game) with an akaviri-dai katana, and once i sell my set of imperial soldier armor i'll get the full blades armor set.

and yeah, sorry for the bump in the dead forum. :P
