i've just got a server up and running with apache2 and some other miscellaneous services only a few days ago. hopefully i'll get it configured how i want and learn how to use it so i can toy around with it. mainly using it to have a platform to learn some php/perl/sql on, but if i find something to host on it I might mess around with that aspect...

i think i have run into a problem, though. i had my friend try to connect over standard http port 80, and he timed out, but when i changed the port to 1402, it worked fine, so i think i've got an issue with my ISP filtering inbound requests like that. i'll check it out later.

anyways, i'm just learning about apache right now and figuring out how to use it, so if i host anything, it won't be for a while.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>
