lol anime
Lucky Star was strange...just for the fact that it parodied itself so much. But I don't watch animu anymore. If I really felt like it, I'd rewatch all of Cowboy Bebop, since it's more than just people jumping around and shouting obscure, overused Japanese phrases.
It's not supposed to be representative of all of America. :/
It's to "measure the power and impact of independent-minded voters on the presidential election," so obviously it will be different than what most of mainstream America thinks.

It's internet-based, and with candidates winning by 60% margins, it is very clear that it isn't a fair representation of independents. Those stats are insignificant and can not be taken seriously. Not even worrying about the rest of the country, if you think that a 60% or 80% margin is legitimate, you are in some serious denial. It measured a small group of people who all have very similar interests. It was not made up of an equal distribution of people with varied opinions, because it was internet-based. Take the Literary Digest example, they sent out the poll in their issues asking people to submit them and they would use that to predict the election. They predicted, with those results, that Landon would beat FDR. Why is that a broken system? They sent it out during the Depression, and the people who got those issues were, first of all, politically simple-minded people (As only people who care strongly one way, not really independent voters, who will often sway much more), and people who were in a position to be getting them. The poor vote was what swung the election, and the poor didn't get the magazine. Giving a poll out to a small audience with biased interest (I can guarantee you that 80% of people had never even heard of that site) can never be taken as an accurate statistical analysis of anything. Your results suggest that if 100% of independents voted in primaries for the Democratic party, Kucinich would get upwards of 70% of the vote. That sort of margin is unheard of, and relatively unfounded in its basis. You'd be hard pressed to get 50% for any candidate, let alone one who's as far back in the polls as he is. Face it, the public is stupid. They hear the big names all the time, and they are going to vote on what they hear through the media. Kucinich gets little coverage, and his message doesn't reach the audience he needs to achieve his goals. The day we have an election based solely on policy will be the day every media organization gives equal representation to all candidates, regardless of how much the candidate is spending on his advertising. Personally, I'd love to see a Kucinich/Edwards administration. I think the two of them would be the best solution to the immediate issues. Other runners would suffice better on other problems, but with the two mentioned, I think the country would be the best, strongest nation we could be, simply because I feel they can reach the people and unite them.
tl;dr version: Kucinich/Edwards FTW, but the poll sucks.
Well said. I agree, my main interest in the poll (and the poll's idea itself, methinks) was to see WHO the independent block supports, and to get it into a recorded slot, so that it could gain more possible media attention. It'd be laughable if they used that as any sort of prediction for the primaries, for the reasons you said.

Plus another factor would be if the independents can outweigh the rest of the General public. Even if there was an outright independent surge for Kucinich, can it outweigh the media's Blitz for Obama/Clinton?

Also I just bought and wrapped my parents gifts. Got my mom this little angel figurine thing and got my Dad an Office Space calender. He fuckin' loves that movie.
EDIT: Oh and I downloaded the WoW demo and played last night. I enjoyed it but didn't find it to be addicting...at all...But I have decided to purchase the full game cuz my bud down the street is also getting it. I swear I won't turn into a WoW junkie. That's a damn promise.
I got HL2 demo to work, and it was kind of fun in the chapter 1, but when I went to the next one (ch. 6) it was f***in weird. I was greeted with a pair of legs dangling from a rope, and monsters with heads that looked like metroids that could come back from the dead and pwn me even after I shot the guys that they were holding on to. Plus, I had like no ammo at all, so I was forced to switch to the crowbar and kill stuff that way, cuz I ran out of ammo after the first 5 monsters. Everywhere I looked there was the top half of a decapitated body, with the bottom half lying a few feet away. Disgusting sh**.
