I was lighting off fireworks for 3 hours but then cops showed up telling us to stop because fireworks are illegal in Florida. Thankfully, we didn't get a fine which is a $1,000 or a year in jail and we were doing it for about 3 hours.
I don't know about other states but you can only have fireworks in Florida if your a farmer trying to scare off birds.

i'm moving to michigan, and from what i hear, anything that shoots into the air is illegal. then again, i don't think they ever issue fines unless there's a serious issue.
ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

Wow, that really sucks. Is it extremely dry down there? I wouldn't think so...even we can have SOME stuff in our desert craplands.StalkingGrunt911 wrote:I don't know about other states but you can only have fireworks in Florida if your a farmer trying to scare off birds.

Yeah... Pretty lame stuff though :\ Just the generic family fireworks.shadowkhas wrote:Wow, that really sucks. Is it extremely dry down there? I dunno, I find this pretty funny though. There's an airport next to my house with a really big dry field, and every couple of years someone sets it on fire with 'illegal fireworks'.

Well...I live in a desert like state. Fire + Dry conditions do not = anything very good.iGeo wrote:Why make fireworks illegal? Serious Question.
I do think it's pretty ridiculous, though. Me and my friends have messed with bottle rockets out in ATV areas with lots of desert-like plants and everything went well... not one thing caught fire. You'd have to be actually trying to catch something on fire to start something big... Even then it's pretty difficult.
Other areas like Florida and that... It's beyond me why they'd make them illegal. Probably for the same reason- they don't want any massive fires starting. But like I said... Pretty hard to do that. I've set off those flower fireworks in my grass... nothing happened.

Well, if they made it legal, there would be many more people doing this, and the chances of something happening would be much higher. But with it illegal there aren't nearly as many people using them, and it's not a big deal, since the chances of it starting something are much less. I don't necessarily agree with this view, it's just how it's seen by the state governments in those states where it's illegal.

Yeah, I was afraid it was gonna rain but luckily it passed us and we got none. Now today it was raining when I woke up and I was planning to go to the beach.D4rkFire wrote: Tell me about it Florida sucks balls, it was *** raining all day so no fireworks for me =[
Nah it gets wet, but a few years back a big forest fire would start because of fireworks because we have a lot of trees everywhere in Florida and so they made a law for it to be illegal.shadowkhas wrote: Wow, that really sucks. I personally think that fireworks should be ok on 4th of July, I mean your celebrating America's birthday even though I don't think anyone cares and they just want to shoot off fireworks.

Yea, I was planning on going too but now I have to go bowling cause of the stupid rain. =/ Oh well at least we will hopefully get out of our drought soon enough.StalkingGrunt911 wrote:Yeah, I was afraid it was gonna rain but luckily it passed us and we got none. If this question was directed at me, since I live in South Florida the only way we can get water is from Lake Okeechobee which isnt very high right now so we need to have it rain there and fill the lake back up. So it needs to rain a lot because I think the lake is 6-7 ft below where it should be.gh0570fchurch wrote:Well, wouldn't that mean you're done with the drought if it's already raining?
