LHC renamed to Halo
I'm pissing myself in anticipation of the Higgs Boson! Go CMS!
Seriously, the asinine schmucks who oppose the LHC are primitive, and should know that they are trying to stop one of the most important experiments in several hundred years.
Renaming it to "Halo" only encourages the skeptics, and detracts from the seriousness of what's going on.

Either way, you won't be scared for too much longerCorvette19 wrote:TBH, I'm a bit scared, either way.
I mean, what if...

What do you think is going to happen if there's a black hole? We'll probably send a giant "memory box" into space in case any other intelligent race runs into it, and they'll understand our history.
I'm excited.
Black hole - woot. We all die. Big deal, I'm sure that the only thing we'll have time for is a, "oh crap, that was a bad idea."
Success - Well, success! We don't all die, and we learnt a little more about the universe.

It is expected, and demanded.Tural wrote:MrMurder, we're going to hold you to that promise.

I hope you're right...Tural wrote:Even if a black hole was formed from it, it would be too minuscule and too quickly dissipated to have an impact on anything.
That makes me feel better, though.
Thanks Tural!

EDIT: But wait... That would mean scientists would start experimenting with Black Holes -_-

There wont be a black hole. If there is, it will evaporate before it is noticeable by anything other than the detectors. No Stranglets. No antimatter collapses. Research the plausibility of your stupid doomsday theories before you try to spout them like that guy outside the second safe house in GTA 4.Aumaan Anubis wrote:Either way, you won't be scared for too much longerCorvette19 wrote:TBH, I'm a bit scared, either way.

if my math teacher last year was right there is enough radiation from the anti-matter around the brim of the black hole to create a radiation of gamma rays, that well lets say you pumped ten pounds of garbage into it and could convert the radiation from gamma rays to usable energy then you could power at least a city block with the amount of radiation. (not a doomsday thing, plus this black hole probably wouldn't last long enough to actually be able to do this, if it did then well i can haz black energy henerator?)Tural wrote:Even if a black hole was formed from it, it would be too minuscule and too quickly dissipated to have an impact on anything.
also if they get a black hole to be created then can i divide by zero?
im only optimistic in this matter.
i really doubt anything could go wrong....well at least anything that would effect the US

Tural is right. The media enjoys inducing fear into the population by not knowing shit about what they are talking about. And you know what, scientists are scientists for a reason, they are smart, they have common sense. Stop acting like the media wants you to by thinking they are an impulsive child that wants to do anything on a thought
