I have never seen that before on any other computer/OS.
I'm sticking with XP.

Maybe there talking about America Online Internet Supplier Application(Fail dial up mbmbmb)Aumaan Anubis wrote:I've been using XP for... as long as its been out, and that's never occured.
And just because some retarded testers think its snazy looking and is easy to use doesn't make the issues the OS has vanish.

the experiment wasn't an experiment at all; it is a marketing ploy. as mentioned, it was in a completely controlled environment where they made sure people couldn't do anything that could cause a problem. plus, the people running the experiment were also the ones that would benefit the most from positive results, giving the "experiment" bias.
just because some ignoramuses thought some shiny windows meant the OS was high quality, doesn't mean that it actually is. Just the jump in minimum system specs to run the OS from Vista to XP angers me. if Vista is the only OS with dx10 support, and the obvious next step in the progression of PC games, why make it such a resource hog? the new hardware i'd have to buy, as well as the OS, doesn't justify the advantages of dx10 for me.

ASPARTAME: in your diet soda and artificial sweeteners. also, it's obviously completely safe. it's not like it will cause tumors or anything. >.>

the people who were in this "experiment" were probably just computer illiterate idiots, who would barely use a computer them selves....
like mentions before...they couldn't really put vista to the test
honestly i like vista just cause.... i love the look, and it runs every piece of crap i install on it.... . my dad hates it...but honestly he never even put his hands on it....he says he will never use it....and that's just his opinion....but he has his opinion from other people saying what they disliked.....not from his own experience.....and i know that's how it was for so many people....

The experiment is funny.
Also, I've been using Vista since launch day, have changed hardware several times (change from Asus to Gigabyte, ATI to Nvidia), ran modding programs, ran a very wide variety of software, and ran several games. I've had no problems, the blue screen once because my processor over heated, and that was my fault, because i didn't secure the fan wire correctly.
Vista works fine for me, when people say bad things about it I have no idea what they are talking about, but I don't argue. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If they want to stick with XP, or use Apple instead that's fine with me. All I hope is that Windows stays around.
Back on topic:
I do think the experiment makes a valid point though. People should kind of try out Vista and see if it's right for them, I mean using it for 10 minutes doesn't do justice. But then again there really is no way to try it without buying it or doing something illegal. I think that's why people are afraid.

i use XP alot, but my friend's alienware runs Vista, whenever i use his computer for whatever reasons i find that vista is undesirable compared to XP. I don't see why microsoft wants to make vista so successful, just put more work into improving XP
speaking of Alienware and Vista. im thinking of getting a new computer, but I can't find any really nice computers (what i'm aiming to get) that don't have vista, if anyone knows where i can get something like an Alienware that comes with XP instead of Vista, PM me

Ontopic: Though I like vista, I don't think this experiment is very good. No one uses it for enough time in order to see errors (if there were any) or see what it's like to install a program with compatibility issues (iif there were any).
