i have cancer

I am highly doubtful an 18 year old can develop lung cancer. I can understand addiction, I can understand some of the other effects, but at 18 and lung cancer makes me curious of how many a day you did (if smoking was the cause). That or your lungs were made out of 1 ply paper...Coz some of my older friends.........the smoke......for that long and they're essentially fine.

I am sorry for being doubtful if it is actually revealed to be true however

In isreal im sure they smoke from an Argela and dont have ciggerettes alot. If your a muslim you shouldnt even smoke at all.

To say he deserves it is like me saying that all you who have premarital intercourse deserve to contract AIDS. It's also like saying that you deserve to die because you like to sky dive. Who are you to say who deserves something, especially when their life is on the line?! You're seriously a low-life piece of crap if you mean that. I don't care who you know who went through this. Shut up and get a life. NOBODY deserves to go through this, even if they smoked. Lung cancer is indeed a consequence of smoking, but that's all. It's not "payment" or "revenge" for having smoked.

As for the cancer: I hope you fight through this, man. I really feel for you. Hang in there and don't give up. You can make it.

Sorry to hear about that, and I hope you'll make it out of it, but that's really not true that it is allowed to smoke under age 18.
If you smoke from age 10, so siriously, I'm NOT surprised.
I DO think that just about everyone who smokes has a *sirious* flaw.
But I REALLY hope you'll get better because I don't think ANYONE deserve's it.

To make it clear: I wish you GOOD and to get out of this cancer.
That's one bad thing if you smoke.
But it's not your entire fault if you get cancer(and I think you DON'T deserve it), really.
This should not be the way people stop smoking.

I don't understand how smokers have a "flaw"

It's their choice to smoke and yeah It kills you, but I'm willing to take that risk. For me it's actually a thing I enjoy, I don't do it cause it's cool.

It's not that you take a considerable risk when you smoke like doing Bungie or sky diving.

By smoking you MUST realize that you constantly take amounts of bad stuff, and you WILL get worse, whether if it is minor health decrease, or as sirious as cancer.

No matter what, smoking = doing something BAD that you WILL feel.

I've never even put a cigarette in my mouth. Just the thought is disgusting. Smoking is basically you saying you don't care about your body.

I'm not saying smokers are bad, I have family members who smoke. I do wish you the best, but you should have known the risk.

There is no debate whether or not smoking is damaging to your health. What we are discussion here, however, is this poor chap's cancer. No matter how he got it, it is still sad news. I don't believe in smoking (25 and never smoked, drank, done drugs, or had pre-marital sexual relations), but it still doesn't make this situation sad. He needs support now, especially since he already knows what caused it. Let's get off the "Smokers are horrible" topic.

Well, I don't think an internet forum would give him a lot of support... Maybe he should talk to his family. I mean we don't even know the guy. I still hope he turns out ok. But I mean seriously, He should be worrying about what his family thinks, not about what some people on the internet are going to say about it.

Everyone is different. So are their body's reactions to certain scenarios. I was perfectly healthy at the age of 8. I got diabeties. Other's eat complete shit all the time and they don't have diabeties, nor are they overweight, yet they are lucky enough to not have to deal with it. I'm not overweight either but it follows the same path you are referring to.

He can quit, he just doesn't have the will to. It's very hard to quit, and your body gets a physical dependence for tobacco, which causes withdrawals...but it's never impossible to quit.
