While on the subject of people getting banned/blacklisted.
Also, same thing happened to people who illegitimately got the halo 3 epsilon, except worse.

It was meant to be a much more private, closed beta (as far as I know). Some kids downloaded it through a friend's Xbox Live account's download history. They got banned...what a surprise.JK-47 wrote:Halo 3 Epsilon is the beta...right?
On the subject of Call of Duty 4's beta, I think it was Infinity Ward's decision on whether or not to ban people. Since it is an open beta after all, I think they didn't mind it as much (it's only 3 multiplayer maps, whereas Halo 3 Epsilon actually had some singleplayer content which Microsoft/Bungie didn't want leaked), but they were mad enough to give 24 hour bans, and they fixed the bug (beta costs 99,999 MP if you don't have a token).

Hey i would have been baned for 24 hours to play a beta of Halo3 anyday.
Edit: if you want to play you can... but you would have to spend alot of microsoft points over $600 worth. =P

No. The people who played the Halo 3 Epsilon were banned permanently (the console says they are banned until 12/31/9999). The people who played the Call of Duty 4 beta who weren't supposed to were banned for 24 hours.supermodder911 wrote:Hey i would have been baned for 24 hours to play a beta of Halo3 anyday.

Microsoft's Major Nelson has stated that contrary to various rumors, the company did not ban tens of thousands of Live gamers as a result of gamers taking advantage of a COD 4 beta entry glitch. However, Major Nelson comments that account sharing IS in violation of the terms and is generally not a safe thing to do.
