I HATE IT. For a public school, it is almost like a private school. I started last Monday and I get out the 2nd Friday in June. It starts from 7:40 AM to 2:40 PM. I go to my first class for 88 minutes. Then another class, then another. After 3 classes I get a 40 minute lunch break. Then another 88 minute class. The next day I have all new classes. So without lunch, I have a total of 8 periods. I have no breaks, only 3 restrooms, and no lockers. We can't have lockers because they are afraid people will hide drugs in there. For men, your hair cant be below your eyebrow, your earlobs, or touch the back of your shirt at all or they will cut your hair. Men can't have any exposed pircings or tatoos and women can't have any tatoos either. Mexicans can't wear plan red or silver shirts, due to some gangs that live in the city (racial profiling maybe?) and freyed pants, sandals, open-toed shoes, heelless shoes, pajama bottoms, holes in your clothes, or facial hair will get you in trouble and it has to be removed before continuing to class. They check you every period. Oh, no cells phones, only after the last bell. Even if you have it out at lunch, the teachers will take it. Same for any music or sound playing device or laser pointers.
I was getting registered and my friend was inline with me. They made him go home and would not let him grab his schedual because he was wearing sandals. It's so gay. BTW this is a high school. I just can't wait till its over or till the weekends. With all these strict policies and more I just want to go home and forget about homework. I got AP Biology, so ever night I have to read a chapter in some gay book and do an hour's worth of work on it. I have homework durring every break, including X-mas. But, in the long run, the education will be worth it........ I hope.

That explains so much....cryticfarm wrote:I don't have school till the 4th of September! Go elementary school!
I've got all the teachers all people want. I've got an asshole music teacher who thinks because he has a PhD in music it means anything who's my HR teacher.
I now work at radioshack on the weekends so that is also a big hog.
Did I mention I live in Reading, MA and the school is a 1 hour drive through rush hour to Dorchester, MA?
Oh and cryticfarm, I've got you beat: 7th of Sept (a friday no less). AND its a high school.
My school is the same situation. We've got wi-fi everywhere, comp prog classes, and my Calc teacher plays Warhammer and suchDrXThirst wrote:Hawaiian Modder wrote:Please tell my why your school kicks ass because I'm over 1000% sure I have never even thought about saying, nor thinking those words.SG911 wrote:Started school last Monday, so far it kicks ass.

There is a slip that every school makes you sign. Its the document that literally signs your rights away. No school will admit you without signing that.WaywornMmmmm wrote:Isn't alot of that... unconstitutional?kornkidcrazy wrote:I HATE IT. For a public school, it is almost like a private school. If you had rights, you might be a good person, but the majority of kids would go ape if they had actual rights.

Well I got easy classes and everyone in my class I'm friends with. School goes by fast and everyone is chill with each other. Btw, newbymodder, I live in Titusville,Florida. Google it.Hawaiian Modder wrote:Please tell my why your school kicks ass because I'm over 1000% sure I have never even thought about saying, nor thinking those words.SG911 wrote:Started school last Monday, so far it kicks ass.

Finished up my second week. Already have had lots of home work, tests, quizes, and I have two projects.
But it feels good to be in 10th grade because that means I am almost done with my school career and I'm sure college will be 100 times better. My teachers are awesome, except a few. I think this will be a more challenging year than past school years, but probably more enjoyable. Oh yeah, and I'm taking honors classes.
I could keep babbling on but I'm sure no one really cares.

guys and girls can't wear shorts except for firdays, girls can't wear any low cut shirt without and under shirt can't show mid drif at all, guys no tattos or piercings visible, we have locker but no one uses them, i noticed a loopole in our handbook " you can have the essence of MJ and the stems and sterilized seeds i found that humorous since almost everyone does it at my school " no sandals except for the button ones or slips that cover your foot, no more knifes we used to could have them so long as they were smaller than our palm, no cell phones " we all have them any way use them at lunch when no one is looking " were not open campus due to the fact that town is like 10 min's away but we do have a deli and soon a sonic around our little community and school, no more gum? idk y there gay. oh random drug dog searches, no prescription drugs or otc that you don't tell the office about. have to sign out then ask if you can leave to leave if you have a doctors appt or something of that nature. only 10 seniors can leave and have an open campus every day can't be the same ten though. i thought all this was bad but apparently i have it great im sry kornkidcrazy that sounds like it blows long and hard our school is public too, oh another loopole in the handbook " sexually activity with a student is allowed so long as you and the other student are of the ages 17 and up? i thought that is still adultery isn't 18 the legal age limit and i thought it was a felony to do that at school? aka indecent exposure

Despite the fact that there was no seperation between your "good" and "bad" sides, I was able to comprehend you saying the "bad side" counterpart to "seeing friends" was "academics." Clearly, the bad side of school is academics. We don't need any education, all we really need is to see our friends, that will take us places in life.
