Shut down the business, how would the middle class deal with the fact the reason they lost their job was because of "global warming" and environmental issues.
Left with the choice of either going green or being shut down, most business would find a way to go green, I'm betting.
It'd be a lot better if we had ratified that damned Kyoto protocol.

If humans have the power to blow up an entire countrie and leave it radioactive for years I think we have the power to change the climate. Lets face it, we are overpopulated and basicly slowly killing the planet. Weather has been wierd though, i mean come on in december it was in 60s but come febuary it got really cold and got several feet of snow...... I hate ohio so much.

We are still a very small and insignificant entity on this planet. I agree with Scotty to a certain extent, that we're definitely not the sole cause but are accelerating a natural process.
Also, that thing about September 11th being warmer... any scientist that made that conclusion is stupid. You cannot base research off a change in weather in one day, it would have to be long term tests covering various situations. One day is hardly grounds to make theorems.
[EDIT] I'm all for nuclear energy as well... are you?
[EDIT AGAIN] I was wearing a T-shirt to college all day. It's been very sunny. Now it is snowing VERY heavily, and they've just closed the bridge to Canvey Island due to flood risks. What the fuck! This may not seem that weird.. but I'm actually worried.

They didn't ground airplanes for just one day, it was a few days. You need to read more. And they don't just look at temperature and make a conclusion. They had to do research and tests and look at data from various machines. People have also been experiencing similar things like this around the world; and it is a fact, that Jet Airliners can, under the right conditions (Shadowkhas elaborated this on the first page), block solar energy from reaching the earth. This is what the Scientific Method is all about, they can't just jump to one conclusion just because of a significant temperature increase.
Well I guess they would block solar energy from reaching the surface, though I just can't imagine there being enough planes to even change the temperature by even a single degree.

It was by at least three or four degress, I can't remember the specifics. It was most noticeable in high traffic areas such as the Northeast US and Halifax Island (where lots of transcontinentals fly Chicago and New York to Europe).

A lot of businesses are choosing to exploit the whole going green thing...Not so much exploiting but because their target market has a new found opinion on greenness then the business changes to appeal to the customer not so much to help stop the climate change... I bet they don't care about that at all... Just like if they cared about other people's lives the large transnational corporations wouldn't be exporting labour and making sweatshops in countries where its legal...

I don't hate Ohio, and I have no idea where you're going with this whole pirate thing.
NC, thats New Connecticut right, goddamn bush all those new states. How many are we up to now, 37?
Yes, studies have proven that a decrease of pirates can increase temperature, but with ninjas we will not only decrease the temperature more than pirates, but pirates will be unneeded, support ninjas not dirty rotten pirates. www.goninja.com

Strangely enough, the company behind "beyond petroleum" ads is named British Petroleum. And they love them some oil money.
I think this is a good graph to show to clear up how unnatural this process is becoming:
I don't know. If we can make it spike that much, I wouldn't be surprised if we managed to smooth out an ice age or two. If not, then we get to start over, which is pretty neat.
