Its not global warming to the slightest degree (<--Pun!).
Its EL NINO!
El nino is this phenomena that happens every once and a while and it screws up global weather cycles.

My real name is a Mammoth, if someone who cares sees this, please change my name to a Mammoth
It's raining in Shanghi
but seriously, here it has been a good 0 degrees F for a while. There's about 6" of snow on the ground from last week and it is supposed to snow again thursday. Also, with global warming, people don't think about the positive here, they're just pecimistic. Ok, what uses lots of CO2? PLANTS, of course. So if plants breathe better they probably grow fast thus causing bigger plants, and resulting in a food surplus. This would also explain why some countries (eg. parts of Africa) people are starving because they don't drive tons and tons of cars all day. It's science at it's finest. And also, seeing as how it is really really cold here, I don't see how it would hurt if the average temperature went up 1 degree every 100 years.

Well, the effects of global warming are inevitable due to shifting magnetic poles (every...7 thousand years or something, magnetic north switches places with magnetic south, as south switches to north). This shift weakens the magnetic field, letting in more of the sun's rays, and heating up Earth. Then you have the snow melting on the poles and flooding up some parts of the earth, more open spots for harmful rays to get in, climate shift, bla bla blah.
Why the shift makes it weaker, is the south pole's ability to generate the shield are much less intense as the north pole's ability.
Not happening in our lives, but neither will the effects of Global Warming.
I like keeping up on Earth's info

the thing with the CO2 is that, as far as i know, major producers are cars and factories. the cars may get it low and stuff, but they're mainly in cities where there isn't any agriculture, and the factories pump it out up high in the atmosphere, so i'm not sure if alot of it is getting to plants. plus, we have the hole in the ozone letting in ultraviolet radiation, and global warming will trigger the melting of the poles, raising water levels (inhabited islands have already dissapeared under the oceans) and making the global ecosystem FUBAR. plus, i personaly think global warming is helping the formation of tropical storms by increasing ocean temperature.
plus, there's destruction by man we have to worry about, like wars, nuclear holocost, terrorism, big brother, etc. and then if we get hit by a meteor it's basically a one-shot deal, either get hit or don't, and if we do we're toast. but it's okay, nomatter what happens, the world will end. even if we can bring about world peace, eventually apocalyspe by a higher being will occur, whether it be cosmic phenomena like our sun a'sploding, or alien invasion, or gamma ray bursts, or just blatant apocalyptic events.

LAWL! Utah skiing wins, well... I havn't been anywhere else, butzor it r gewd.fishface617 wrote:Stop rubbing it in. <_<
But im going on the school ski trip to Okemo in New Hampshire, so that I am excited for. My Dad also planned a trip to Utah to go skiing. I hope that works out. =)
Suggestion, if you go, try not going to Snow Basin, they have good runs and all, but it is highly overrated, and it gets packed with tourists because "oooooo it r had teh olympics it must be good". Yeah they have an awesome fancy lodge and a gondola, and the winter olympics took place there a few years ago, but theres better places, but if you do end up going there, I can still guarentee you'll have a good time. Brighton ski resort usually gets LOTS of snow, and they have good lifts
