Have any one of you ever thought, as a kid, "What am I going to do with my life?" I always dreamed of being an astronaut, and almost idolized all of the guys that went on the Apollo missions. Now, being much older and mature, I've come to realize that I'm not going to be an astronaut. Instead of becoming what I've always dreamed of I'm going to live my entire life saying "No, my time will come". But my time will never come, instead I'll become an wrinkly old man, filled with regret, wishing I had become what I'd dreamed of as a child.


tldr: I'm depressed as hell about what the rest of my life will turn out to be.

Ok... gather on up around the fire and grab some "Happy Marshmallows"...Ready? Ok... Once Upon I time... I too wanted to be an astronaut. I wanted to go into space...and as such I absorbed all the info I could On space.. I loved it ( still do ). There is nothing like waking up in on a Cold November Morning (Around 2 or 3 In-fact) with a pack of oroes and Lying on your back upon icy ground watching Shooting Stars. Now ya know what I figured out after collecting year after year all the data I could... It was, "You do not want to be in space/be a astronaut" (when I say that In General). I'm going to presume you know a multitude of reasons why. With a lack of a better term...It SUCKS there.

More could be said... but I have to say... Why? Why did you want to be an astronaut? Did you want to step on another planet? Did you want to be weightless? All in all you aren't dead yet.^_^

What I've actually always wanted to do was go to Mars, do experiments, and then come back after a few years. Yes, space looks desolate and like an endless nothingness, but it's really not. In my opinion it's the most beautiful thing a man can lay his eyes on, ever. I want to reach for the heavens and explore the universe, even if it's just orbiting around Earth. I do have a lot of reasons not to go to space/be an astronaut, but I also have a good reason for the opposite.

Pros: I'll be fulfilling my lifelong dream, which in truth would probably have me shedding tears of joy aboard my space vessel.

Cons: The rocket could explode, I could get lost, my visor could break open, the capsule/ship I'm in could have a broken window and have explosive decompression. There's about 20 or more of these.

Ambulance rolling over is not a danger of the profession, it is a danger of vehicles. Your car could roll on the way to work at any job. Your claim is invalid.
