The Official Rant Thread
Re: The Official Rant Thread
Because the average user doesn't use a proxy and would be afraid to download a file that is initially huge, but are fine if it shows you a fancy progress bar when you start the installer.
Re: The Official Rant Thread
Everyone is acting like they have so much power, and can do what they want... their decisions are final. I don't understand why we had to do anything?

My Blockbuster sucks.
I went to get Left 4 Dead. It wasn't on the shelf or anything, so I grabbed The Force Unleashed instead.
I figured that they just didn't have it on the shelves or something. Maybe a copy had been returned recently, and it just wasn't on the shelves yet. I decided to ask the lady at the front desk. I asked "Do you guys have Left 4 Dead on the xbox?"
"Uhh, no, we never got that game... We usually only get big releases like Gears of War and stuff."
I am angry.

I called my "Movie Gallery" the other day, and they said that they had "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" for the Xbox 360. So, I ride down there, go to rent it and the man said someone just came in and got it... he thought it was me.

The transition to PHPBB3, which I find to be incredibly ugly. Not even just the color scheme, the entire layout is horrible.
New administrator that has not been active for longer then I've been here.
The new "Dev Team". I suppose trading some of the most dedicated and active staff members for some people who can do some website coding might make sense to some people, I guess I'm just not one of those people.
Tural, GTAF, Khas, Veegie, etc. stepping down. As much as I might not have been on the best of terms with certain staff, I still felt they did their job with this site very very well, and I'm definitely upset they're leaving.
Also, fairly certain a post of mine was deleted. If it wasn't, then it was the forums screwing up.
I'll give the new HM 3 months. I'd be shocked if it was still up by then, and be dumbstruck if it was nearly as active as it was before the switch.

Dear Michael,
Every year I attempt to boost my students' final grades by giving them thisrelatively simple exam consisting of 100 True/False questions from only 3chapters of material. For the past 20 years that I have taught Intro Communications101 at this institution I have never once seen someone score below a 65 on thisexam. Consequently, your score of a zero is the first in history and ultimatelybrought the entire class average down a whole 8 points.
There were two possible answer choices: A (True)and B (False). You chose C for all 100 questions in an obvious attempt to getlucky with a least a quarter of the answers. It's as if you didn't look at asingle question. Unfortunately, this brings your final grade in this class tofailing. See you next year!
May God have mercy on your soul.
Sincerely,
Professor William Turner
P.S. If all else fails, go with B from nowon.
B is the new C

Hahahahahahaha. I laughed so much at that.
I'm so glad that someone did that.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
To be honest, I think it will be a little more active. People still complaining and wanting new things. I hate it, along with the majority of the people at this site, but that doesn't change the fact that now you're seeing people that you haven't seen post in months or even years. Also, if a choice of forum style is added, more people will come/stay/become active.
HOWEVER, the other modding forums are absolutely ridiculous. Plain out stupid, and will bring in 0, -, zip, zero, nada, none, NO more members to the forum. None.
Bill: "Hey, Joe! There's this awesome site called 'Halomods.' Let's go there and talk about modding Crysis!"
Joe: "Uh, what? Crysis modding... at a site called 'Halomods?' Let's not."

My rant is people accusing me of something that i have pointed several times in the same day something they know little about.

@DrXThirst
I don't see the other modding as an attempt at expansion. If the people who implemented seriously thought it would, I am concerned. The way I see it - the halomoding on this site has been dwindling over time. We recently expressed how we like to, or have modded other things in the past or even now as times have moved on. This other modding serves to benefit the people such as myself who don't mod halo but find interest in jailbreaking the iPod Touch and still like the community here. So the people who have lesser interests in halomodding, who have become less active because its such a focus on halo, can return and discuss these other things. And if there is another next big thing that a lot of us share interest in: we can expand into that because we have an active administrator.
If I wanted to find an iPod modding community, I would have found it and stayed there long ago (since there are so many now), but I'm here because I like the people here, so its a mix of both worlds...
But yes, if it was an attempt at expansion to bring in new users, I don't think we will see this.
@warlord, -edited- I got no idea what you are actually saying there.

Re: The Official Rant Thread
I understand. It's been suggested that expansion was the reason the forums were created, and I hope not myself as well. However, iPod modding has been long discussed at 7. Although, I'm not allowed to speak of that site. :/ScottyGEE wrote:@DrXThirst
