I wasn't all that surprised (Vista beta), but Win7's beta is far more accessible. From what I've been hearing about it, Windows 7 sounds like it's going to be amazing. I've still yet to install it; I'll get around to it eventually. I downloaded it this past weekend at like, 550kb/s. That made me happy.

No. gparted Live CD is around ~70MB and fits on a CD+/-whatever.

The download failed every time it got to 14% today... I give up now. It obviously won't work for me. I was reading about some major compatibility issues with my key programs anyway. Since I have all of my things backed up, I think I will do a clean install of Vista.

I've heard that, for whatever reason, the download manager works better under IE.
I still managed to get a fast, working download under FireFox though. :|

I wasn't even able to start the download in Fire fox, but it was fine in IE.
Why is IE so horrible?

Same.

I think it's pretty good, but I installed it on a virtual machine through VMWare, so I don't get the best performance out of it since I have a limited amount of RAM, but it seems nice.

My experience thus far has been horrendous.
I cannot acess my vista patition, my resolution cannot go above 1024x768, my GFX card is not recognized, and none of my programs are available.

The point is to be a better operating system than the last, the same point every single OS successor has.

Now tell me Why would they chuck away vista and leave it in the cold for Windows 7 when Microsoft are just going to get flamed and everyone is gonna be pissed.

You know what? I'm not even going to have this argument. I'm going to go ahead and remove this post's content so I don't get myself banned from how annoyed I have become at the continuous effort I have to exert to keep you on-topic and sensible. You're on thin ice, and I'm not going to take more of my time correcting your baseless, nonsensical claims any more. I advise you to put more time and thought in to your future posts if you'd like to continue making them.

They aren't chucking away Vista. They're improving it to a point where it's a new operating system. Same way they didn't chuck away Windows XP when vista came around, and They didn't chuck 98/2000/ME when XP came out. No one's chucking anything but you. So chuck all you want, and reacquaint yourself with the rules.

EDIT: Damnit tural with your fast moving Cornhusking hands.
