The Official Post Your Set Up Thread
Re: The Official Post Your Set Up Thread
Eh, iTunes is simple, and that's why I like it. winamp is all jumbled up and annoying to me.

HP: Make an Action to do the hard work for you: then you just need to find an image, and insert text.

Re: The Official Post Your Set Up Thread
Sorry, that argument is stale. The iTunes store is DRM-free now, and even when it wasn't you could still play and rip music without DRM. Hell, WinAmp doesn't have DRM because you can't buy music with it! The only drawback to iTunes in my opinion is that it can be overkill for just playing a few music files, but for a full library organization tool/music ripping program is does its job well IMO. I mean, the fact that you are spending hours customizing folders is proof enough for me.Cuda wrote:You forgot heavy DRM and also bad.

Maybe he just wants organize his music? The DRM argument was still valid, one of the many reasons why i shot my iPod and removed iTunes never to put it back on my PC again.

Yeah, I mean it's a bit of a personal thing really. Nothing against HPDarkness, cause I've spent hours myself doing stuff most would consider pointless to get things just the way I want them as well.Cuda wrote:Maybe he just wants organize his music?
I still don't see how. I am not a fan of DRM either, and I have exactly 0 out of 5003 songs in my iTunes library with any form of DRM on them. As I previously mentioned, iTunes does not force DRM on you in any way. It was only their music store which had DRM on it (and that was entirely due to the record industry -- not Apple), and now even the music store has no DRM. So... explain to me again how that argument is valid at all? Cause I seem to be missing it.Cuda wrote:The DRM argument was still valid, one of the many reasons why i shot my iPod and removed iTunes never to put it back on my PC again.

Because of the Heavy DRM, I stopped using the Apple software. It was big enough of a problem that I stopped using it entirely.mxrider108 wrote:Yeah, I mean it's a bit of a personal thing really. Re: The Official Post Your Set Up Thread
I like Winamp because it's skinnable, easy to use, and non system hogging.
Customizability makes Winamp look awesome:
iTunes doesn't organize my music the way I want, and sometimes when I import music into it, it makes doubles of the song, it's annoying as shit to go through all my music and remove the doubles. I don't buy music, so iTunes is useless to me.
Anyways it's all opinion. u liek itoon, i liek wimomp amd foombur.
I'm organizing my music this way because it's easier when DJing, the icons are nice and big, and I can navigate through them easily and put the songs I need into playlists.

Yeah, that's cool. I think iTunes for Mac runs faster/with less resources than its Windows counterpart. You don't buy music online, or you don't buy music? Cause pirating music is bad, mmkay? It's good to support the (smaller) bands.HPDarkness wrote:I like Winamp because it's skinnable, easy to use, and non system hogging.
